Hidden or cool features about our Expeditions

Another one, at least for the 2012 EL XLT - when the reverse sensors go off you can temporarily silence them by pressing the Reset button on the dash. Once you do that you'll also have the option of disabling it permanently. This could come in handy when backing a trailer up.

Hidden or cool features about our Expeditions

I saw this on another forum and I though would be cool to list anything about our Expeditions that are either hidden, cool, unknown, or otherwise not commonly known by all. There could be something in the owners manual that you found that most people may have skipped for instance. If you...

What did you do to the expy today

Nice! We went there a couple of years back. I had my Excursion then. I actually worried that I'd sink to the axles but didn't. Had so much fun cruising the beach and back in the neighborhoods. I even let my (then 12 year old) son dirve. He had a blast too.

2012 Expedition Plug and Play remote start

Has anyone added this themselves and have the dealer activate it after it's installed? I found lots of valuable information about installing it on the F150's but nothing on Expeditions. Other then the hood switch (which I have installed already) is there anything else that needs to be...

    organizing/storage ideas

I found out you can store items under the center seat (I plan to put a small shoe box sized plastic box under there. Even folded down the box can stay under there.

    organizing/storage ideas

I have blankets, jackets, gloves, tools, air compressor, cargo straps, snow brush, etc. The normal "crap" we tend to keep in our trucks. I do have a cargo carrier to hold a lot of it but it would be nice to stow it all away somewhere. My home-made center console worked out well so everything...

    organizing/storage ideas

I'm wondering how/what everyone is using to organize their Expeditions? I've had this vehicle for about two weeks now but couldn't really do anything since the molded cargo tray in the rear was cracked and the dealer had to order a new one. Well that will be replaced on Tuesday and I can...

Adding 2nd USB port to Ford SYNC

Thanks! I saw this write up. From the best I can tell the SYNC module for the 2012 Expedition EL sits below the center console. It's been COLD since I bought the truck so I haven't been too motivated to rip things apart yet. But from all my research there is a 2nd USB port that is only...

2012 Expedition Limited - Need Keyless Code

So dumb question. Did you look in the owners manuals for a business card sized piece of paper with the code on it?

    unknown center console "feature"

Exactly! So my guess is that Ford never supplied anything to hook to it then. Since I bought the Truck 2nd hand I thought maybe something was missing. There was no mention of it (or the mesh bag, which I do have) in the book so I was unsure. Thanks!

    unknown center console "feature"

nah! way too small! I'll have to take a pic. It kind of looks like something you could hang a CB Radio mic on.

    unknown center console "feature"

On my 2012 EL XLT the center console has a bracket on the inside, on the right side that looks like some kind of clip. Does anyone know what it's for or what have you used it for?

Adding 2nd USB port to Ford SYNC

Has anyone ever added the USB cable to the Ford SYNC system to enable "USB2"? Can you confirm that the SYNC module is under the console on a 2012. Where/How did you route the cable? Since it's supposedly under the console does that limit or expand my option for accessing it?
