    Hydrotex oil

Right from the Amsoil online store. Lucky for me, their distribution center is in Arlington, Tx and I'm just right over in NE Dallas. I ordered the 5w20 XL synthetic. I even have the name and number of a rep who lives only 10 minutes away from me who will take care of me in the future...

    Hydrotex oil

I've been researching switching from Mobil 1 to another brand recently and my conclusion became Amsoil. Placed an order online for a case of 12 for $90 for use in my next oil change. I was able to find a link and it has some interesting reading. There is also a tab at the bottom of the page...

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

Ran mine stock on the beaches of Nc on the Outer Banks. After moving to Tx, I wanted more clearance for the wide open spaces down here and the unpaved rutted out roads. It's taken awhile to get it set up the way I want, still waiting on rims and tires, but works fine for now. I don't wheel...

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

My 4wheelparts did the install for $360. They quote 150-180 an axle. I drove my price up by adding hardware and alignment. My final out the door was closer to 500. It is a relatively easy install once you have everything loose. Stack the new hardware on top of the coil pack and slide it...

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

Correct, the Truxxx kit and the like require no compressor, the puck style kits require the disassembly of the spring/strut for the pucks to be sandwiched into place. Regardless, I opted for the new caster/camber keys and the alignment and that wasn't happening in my garage.

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

Strut compressor either way, never liked them. In my older age(ain't that old anyway) I leave the knuckle busting stuff to the shop. I personally installed a Revtek Suspension lift on my old Toyota and a Tuff Country leveling kit on my SuperCrew. After some cursing, blood, and busted...

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

Stamped steel, or whatever they call it, with an upper flange and a lower flange, if that makes any sense. The lower flange receives the strut and bolts to it. The upper flange goes into the normal strut mounting location. They claim it's a DIY garage kinda thing, don't let them fool ya. I...

Slïght rake with the Truxxx, but more importantly, room for 33-35 in tires!

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

The Daystar stuff only does the front, and takes the factory rake away and leaves the rear alone, aka levels out the stance and gets rid of the front end down appearance. The Truxxx kit includes the 2 inch rear pucks to combine with the front 3 inch to not only level but lift the whole rig...

Parking ramps? I don't follow... Do you mean parking garages? If so, there's a member with 35's on a 2nd gen and one of his pics was taken in a garage. Most of them in my area are 8'6" anyway.

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

Ok, I'm bored, so I just put a tape on the clearance to the roof rack... 3 inches to spare.

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

Cannot comment on the 2nd gen, but my 3rd gen still fits in the garage with factory rubber and the 3/2 kit. My opening is just about 83 inches and I have some room to spare. A 295 will only give a net change in height of about an inch. I'm assuming garage opening is your concern?

The options you have listed for those years sounds about right. If in the EB or Limited, leather is standard. Personally, I like the EB. In my 08, the leather is 2 tone, don't remember if they did that ack in 05-06. You'll also might be able to find heated/cooled seats. If you're planning...

    Royal Purple oil and filter

I'll go on record defending Fram, and when I say that, only the XG Series of filters. I have used them on my Expy and even cut them open to check them out. Very pleased with their performance. Metal end caps, silicone ADBV, and synthetic filtering media all on par with what Mobil and K&N...

No problem at all with the tranny, never hunting gears in my travels. Then again, mine is tuned and running the 3.73 rear.

    Edge Readings

I love reading about your trial and errors trying to dial in the settings of these programmers. One thing keeps coming to mind for me... are the rear ratios the same in all of your vehicles? To me it almost sounds like Baker has a 3.31 rear and the rest of you have a 3.55 or higher ratio. If...

You need to be in an 09 for sync, one of my biggest regrets. And no, can't be retrofitted, I've asked!

    2nd gen vs 3rd gen

One piece of advice...keep the wife happy. If she likes the extras on the 3rd gen, go for it! I have just about everything on my EB minus the nav radio and air suspension. Love all of the creature comforts, great road trip vehicle with the kids, can't really complain about anything. Never...

    Royal Purple oil and filter

Ok, I've done some reading, there seems to be no middle of the road with RP. People either love it or hate it. Maybe it just some smoke and mirrors and fancy marketing. Now I'm wondering about possibly switching to Amsoil, almost everything about that stuff is great! Only about $2/qt more...

Alleged 2013 info from factory worker - confirm?

According to the latest issue of Truck Trend or Motor Trend, can't remember which one I read it in...Lincoln Navigator will have the EB as an option in 2013.

    Need help with performance chip

Yeah, the 2 mpg difference between tanks may not sound like much, but loosing 50 miles in range forced me to stop at least an additional 1 1/2 times during our journey or better yet, $125 extra in fuel cost!

    Need help with performance chip

A little off subject, but my recent 4000 mile journey through Tx, Ak, Tn, Va, Wv, and Pa I returned some quite different milage returns. The tanks in Pa, Va and Tn returned averages of 17-18 mpg and the tanks of Tx and Ak returned milage of 15-16 mpg. All of these numbers were running blended...

    Royal Purple oil and filter

A little background... I purchased my Expy new in 2007 and at the 3000 mile mark I performed the first oil change and switched over to full synthetic motor oil from the factory blend. I have done habitual changes since using Mobil 1 or Quaker State and a Fram XG(gold housing) in the intervals...
