very good tires, i know alot of people who run studded Hakkapelitta's
i have 3 different sets, the new blizzak studdless. Cooper M+S studded and firestone winterforce studded. all of them are fantastic. lots of siping and soft rubber compound make for a very sticky tire.

until you drive with both you may thing all seasons or A/Ts are fine for winter, they are not! at least not here anyhow.
real snow tires will give you more traction then you could ever imagine was possible on glare ice/snow pack..ect
my luck...put new snow tires on and its nearly 60F out! no snow in the forecast for at least a week 1/2. now that could all change tomorrow but as of now its a oddly warm fall.

you can go with 17" wheels and 265/70 17 tires. that would be your cheapest route.
i just put brand new blizzak studdless snow tires this season to replace my 3 season old firestone winterforce studded.
did not do a thing to my '98..
but i did replace rotors and pads on my inlaws 2002 Expy. she had run the pads right into the rotors..chunks of metal all over.
funny the difference a few days can make!
tonight i was cruising around in our Oldsmobile Delta 88 convertible with the top down. it was about 45F but with the heater on full blast it wasnt bad. put around 75 miles on the car tonight :)
just keep filling mine up with gas and going. going to need to do some front end work soon. only 93k miles but it has seen alot of rough gravel roads. oh and i have oil and a filter just need to go out to the garage and change it.
