Yeah it's definitely been a challenge getting them in lol. The fronts took quite awhile and I'm still trying to figure out how to fit the back ones in, only had a little while to work on it today. As far as the travel of the components, I've talked to everyone and anyone on these forums that did...
Thanks for the responses everyone, really appreciate it. So I received the replacement parts from rancho yesterday, and the new struts had the same defect (or designed flaw) as the other ones. So instead of waiting another month and a half dealing with rancho again, I just decided to fix it...
Hey everyone,
I recently purchased some Rancho Quicklift struts for my 04 EB, and noticed the welds were terrible. Specifically where the lower strut mount is welded to the strut itself. See below:
I was wondering if anyone with some expertise thinks that these welds would be sufficient...
Status update:
Got the front suspension done tonight, just had to disconnect the upper ball joint (thanks @Hamfisted!) and with some persuasion from a pry bar and a floor jack under the LCA I was able to get it in. But I noticed the upper control arm hits the spring at full extension, anyone...

The instructions for doing the airbag to coilover swap said that I'd only need to disconnect the tie rod, but that wasn't taking the 2 inch pucks on top of the coilovers I put on.
But I'll try disconnecting the upper ball joint instead of the LCA mounts. I already loosened it up a good bit...
Hey everyone, here's the situation. So I got the Rancho quick lift struts and a 2inch supreme suspension lift kit on top of that for a total of 2.75 inches in the rear and 3 inches in the front more than OEM coilovers. Right now I am working on the front right one, and I cannot for the life of...

I have the shop repair manual for my expy, and it looks like the compressor has a 150 psi pressure release valve, so I think compressor would be more than powerful enough. The switch would need some custom wiring or else it would be running constantly. I found a pin-out for the compressor system...
Been searching online and haven't found much about this topic so I figured I'd start a thread here. I've been doing a lot of research on how to turn my 04 EB into a decent overlanding vehicle, and the plan is eventually to have front and rear lockers. Air lockers are a thought, and even if I...
I've done hours of research online about this exact issue, but have not found anything conclusive either. There is basically no aftermarket true lift kits (not spacers) for 03-05 expys. There are TONS of lift kits for 150s, and I've been eyeing a few different 5"+ kits, but haven't pulled the...
Probably won't get an answer here unfortunately, the 2nd gen forum is pretty dead. If you're having issues with the air suspension though I'd recommend just swapping over to coilovers. A lot less maintenance and way easier to fix if it does break. A conversion can be done for around $500-$600 if...
I saw that the other week, thank you though! When I heard suspension lift I thought he meant he got a lift....via the suspension lol. Not spacers. Semantics.
Was talking to a fleet manager of my local ford dealership this weekend though and he told me that they have done multiple true...
Bumping this post, planning on putting big ol' tires on my '04 eventually and would like to know a cheap method too. Anyone know if you can do it via one of those scanner tools? Was considering buying one of those "universal" ones that works on multiple brands, but not sure it'll be worth the...
Sounds cool joe, keep us posted on your progress! For now my plan is to hold off and start saving up for some long travel fox or icon bypass shocks, and then just start cutting and welding to put em on my rig. I've got all the tools I'll need to do it just lacking a bit in the expertise...
I think it was rize. They seem to have been long gone. My most recent plan is to try to use 150 parts, as there are a plethora of options for those. I'm reading through the forums now to try to find more info, haven't found too much about people putting in f150 parts though. Seems like the front...
What suspension did you use for the 3" lift? Having trouble finding anything to replace my air suspension with that doesn't just put it back to the OEM height.
Maybe we'll get that write up in 2021!
Thank you so much for your post! I am starting to lose my mind trying to find a good lift for my expy. I've been calling and emailing all of the major lift companies, and everyone has discontinued their 2nd gen expy products. Rize appears to have vanished off the face of the earth, every single...
