Well my truck (a 2017) has memory seats and memory mirrors with heat and turn signals, but not power-fold. I can provide data from my DSM. We just need data from a truck equipped with power-fold. I'm not very savvy looking up data on that site as I barely managed to get AS-BUILT for my own...
Exactly! We have to do it ourselves but first we need to figure out what the settings are. :(
No worries! :) Just trying to be clear for those reading this thread later (including me after I've totally forgotten everything we've discussed so far! LOL)
You mentioned earlier that you had...
I think you meant "power fold" and not "auto folding?" The auto fold feature (folding/unfolding the mirrors when the truck is locked/unlocked) is not available on our Expeditions. It's controlled by the Driver Door Module (DDM) on F150's.
Also, I don't think we've established -- at least in...
2015-17 XLT trucks have 18-inch wheels standard. Bigger wheels typically make it easier to feel all the little bumps in the road. The smoothest ride can be found in trucks with CCD suspension set to "Comfort."
When I was looking for my current truck, I test drove a '13 EL Limited with 20-inch...
The window symptom sounds unusual. You say it goes all the way up, then reverses and drops down a bit? This might be due to extra resistance in the window track as some have noted. But, it could be that you need to perform a "window motor initialization" procedure.
First, get some dry spray...
Glad I could help!! :) If you'd gone to Ford with this problem they would've had you replace the entire mirror at significant cost. Glad you were able to fix it yourself!
Thanks for posting those pics and the detailed disassembly info. This will help me when I eventually upgrade to power...
The factory fixed running boards are slippery when wet, downright dangerous in snow and ice, and too narrow if you have big feet. You might want to look at some aftermarket options.
Talking about why it cost so much to replace a single part on an old Duesenberg, Jay Leno said back then labor was cheap and technology was expensive while today it's just the opposite. Labor costs have gotten ridiculous. Rebuilding an engine or transmission is very time consuming and labor...
Glass is much less durable these days. I put a brand new windshield on my '17 right after I bought it and it had sand pitting within a few months. I've put maybe 5000 miles on it since the new windshield was installed!
My 2009 XLT was from California and had 36K miles when I bought it. The...
You're correct about the common connection inside the mirror (what the factory manual refers to as a "jumper harness") between the puddle lamp, turn signal indicator lamp, and heated glass.
Funny that I was just looking at this thread today...
Will check it out, thanks!!! :D
EDIT: Found it!

Here's where you can get the brass gears. They are listed for F-150 but it also states they will work with 2007-14 Expedition. As far as I know, mirrors...
You're right! The 2009 brochure mentions it and it is indeed in the 2009 wiring diagram. I stand corrected! Post above now edited.
Well, that should make things easier! Use this module instead of connecting to the DSM.
Looks like Navigators have 3 levels but Expeditions only 2 from 2007-14. Starting in 2015, Expeditions also have 3 levels for both heating and cooling.
RE: The F150 post, this fellow was really lucky the wiring was already there. I don't know what year power-fold mirrors became available on F150. I'm guessing his Driver Seat Module (DSM) wasn't programmed for this option. Perhaps there's a line in the code to enable that feature? If so, he...
Guys, you'll need a factory wiring diagram for your year before trying to make a swap like this. I don't know for sure how much the wiring has changed, but from what I can see (I have 2009 and 2017 manuals), it's pretty similar overall.
First, you must have memory seats in order to install...
Yes, the interior rearview mirror is auto-dim and it has an output that is fed to the driver's side mirror to dim that. This is a variable voltage signal ranging from a few millivolts to just under 1.5 volts. Assuming the connector at the driver's side mirror is the same you will be missing two...
Impressive! :) Is there any chance it might try to unscrew itself while working back and forth? I'm guessing not but stranger things have happened. LOL
I have a 2017 XLT with 202a and Sync 3. We also have a 2018 Expy that was built in early 2018.
When playing music from a USB drive (which is what I do most of the time when I want to listen to music) the '18 has a "slider" control with a "handle" that lets you drag to fast-forward or rewind in...
