4k plus the weight of the trailer puts you way over the 3k limit. Are you using the factory hitch and just have a 3k ball and stinger? A beefier one is cheap.
I don't tow with Blue Ox, but your trailer is a major part of the equation. It's easy to figure out.
Level your trailer and measure the ball height. Then measure the height of the receiver on your Expy. Now you'll know about how much of a drop or rise you need on your stinger.
Motor Biscuit is selective with their quotes. I just looked at Consumer Reports. Yes the 2018 had some problems- the first year of the redesign. But the Expy is one their recommended large SUVs. And cost of ownership included a lot more than repairs.
In my manual it's on page 267, and pretty vague:
