When was the last time that the front diff fluid was changed? Those spider gears turn all the time and the fluid will get dirty even if you never use 4wd.
Um, no, it those gears let loose, then you'd hear a lot more grinding as the diff literally ate itself apart.
Let's start from the beginning:
Look on the door tag and see what it says under 'axle'.
Ford doesn't recommend plowing with F150s or Expeditions. Fortunately, the aftermarket has adapted. There are SUV specific plows available that are lighter than a normal plow and mount with a 2" front receiver. They aren't designed for every day commercial use, but are perfect for home and...
With any project, I think it's important to have a vision of what you'd like the final product to look like, based on how you actually plan to use the vehicle.
To put anti-seize on some of those vulnerable parts would add like $0.06 to the price of the vehicle. Some bean counter probably decided it wasn't necessary.
I had a similar issue. It turned out to be a spring clip from the caliper that was digging in to the aluminum wheel. If I kept on driving on it, eventually it could have done some damage to the wheel.
Mine happened in the middle of winter too, so I just had my buddy at the local 4wd shop take...
There are quite a few pieces to that system. Have someone pull the codes to see where the fault lies. You could spend a fortune replacing parts on a hunch.
Any time you have two dissimilar metals in contact with each other, there will be some degree of galvanic corrosion. (It's actually the principle that makes batteries work.)
The parts can end up 'welding' themselves together. (and yes, salt helps that process along) So that's why you always...
The ring and pinion gear ratio change can be calibrated with a programmer, but it looks like the only way to make the change for the tone ring difference is to send the ecu out to a place like 150tunes.com. Yukon gear makes replacement tone rings, so they may be able to tell you how many teeth...
This is an old thread, but I think it will answer your question. It looks like you may need to have the ecu flashed to make the abs light go off.

They are much more expensive to produce. The reduced weight and higher torsional rigidity makes them perform much better, why do you think that the Raptor has great big aluminum a-arms?
If those go bad then the center axle disconnect won't engage or disengage. So you would either not have any power to the front or the front drive line would always be turning. (you'd notice the lower mpgs)
On mine the actual disconnect lever became stuck. It's a steel rod going through an...
Are you looking to have it lower down just for you to get in and then have it return to normal height, or do you just want it lowered like the 'street truck' guys do?
The first option could be accomplished with air bags, the second with a simple lowering kit.
I guess we also need to know...
