Thanks! And, yes, I noticed the UCAs are very close to the springs at full droop. This is not the ideal lift for off road, but it'll get me by for now until something better (hopefully) comes along. Until then, I have my Land Cruiser for the gnarlier stuff.
Thanks! Yes, I can get a few more...
Here she is with the ReadyLIFT 3/2 installed. Tires still rub, but just the fender liners at full lock. Still need to test articulation to make sure they clear the fenders at full stuff. If it's just the fender liners, I'm not too worried about the rubbing.
Lifted 2018 Ford Expedition by...
I'll check the license plate but this is more of a creaking sound. Any time I accelerate from a stop, the hatch creaks. Dealer said they're going to take it into the body shop to check hatch alignment.
Those were just put on last weekend right before I left in the rental Limited. I didn't have time to change my point of reference due to bigger tires. They definitely ride a bit firmer, but not terribly different.
Ok, so I think much of my initial findings were not completely founded.
The power difference, which is very likely attributable to the gearing, was a nice change.
The transmission did seem smoother and less clunky. Again, could be attributable to gears and/or perhaps software revisions...
I'm casually keeping an eye out for a similarly sized spare. I haven't actually checked to see if a 34" spare will fit in the factory location. Stock spare will do in a pinch for now.
I'd also be interested in sliders. If you come across anything let me know!
If it could be done for a reasonable price I'd consider putting 3.73's in my XLT. This Limited feels just right with them. I get the feeling it would be cost prohibitive, unfortunately. 4.10's would be a stretch for my purposes.
Being a 2 channel audiophile, I totally understand. My source is Tidal HiFi and Spotify premium over Bluetooth, which is inherently lossy. So not the best source.
I'm thinking the additional power is the result of what you guys are saying; 3.73 vs 3.31. It drives great with the lower gearing. Had I known back then what I know now...well you guys know the rest. Still no buyer's remorse. Just might have to bite the bullet and get mine tuned.
Thanks for the info. Really surprised it's not CCD. It's super comfortable on the highway and even around town. Might have to dig into the parts catalog to see if the shocks/struts are different between XLT and limited.
Edit: appears 4x4 XLT and non-CCD Limiteds share the same front and rear...
I coincidentally ended up with a 2019 Limited Expedition for my rental this week while traveling for work. A couple things stand out to me after the first day and 500+ miles.
This thing feels like it is much better tuned and more powerful than my 2018. Do the 2019's have different tuning...
The lower the offset, the more the wheel will stick out towards, or from, the fender. Offset is the measurement of the hub in relation to the centerline of the wheel's width. So at +1 the hub is just 1mm to the right of centerline. This will give the wheel a more concave appearance or a large...
Agree this isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. Just happens to be mine. :)
You can get a similar look with 20-22" wheels, but you compromise some ability to air down for improved off road traction. The larger sidewalls also offer greater protection of the wheels. Both of these are...
I've put over 100 miles on the Expedition with these wheels/tires since yesterday and only rubbed once while backing into a parking spot. I accidentally hit full lock while cutting the wheel. Otherwise, there's no evidence of rubbing whatsoever. Rear wheels/tires clear perfectly fine with a...
I haven't seen any other 4th gens with Raptor wheels. Not to say they're not out there, just haven't seen any others with pics online.
My ReadyLift 3/2 arrived today. Being Mother's Day and all, I figured I shouldn't spend all day in the garage wrenching, so it'll have to wait.
Understood. ReadyLift says 285/75/18 will fit. With the tires being 30mm wider and the Raptor wheels being +34 offset the net difference should be 5mm on the inside. Sounds like 1/4" spacers should be an easy fix.
Zip ties were only 56¢. No shame here, my friend. :D
Yes, forgot to mention that in the OP. As expected, the rear center caps won't clear the axel shafts. I'm not sure which approach I'll take yet. Leaning towards modifying the center caps.
