    hey guys got a 2000 5.4 with stock air intake....im gonna sound like an idiot....but where is this plastic piece you remove?? I have taken the the plastic part of the from the throttle body and filter housing and dont see anything??

    BTW....I use Meguires paste wax and then go over it with their detail mist and wipe all the white dust from the paste....how come they dont make a wax that dont do that?

    I have the same in my 2000 5.4, been there since 77k when I bought it and still there 3 years later with 105k....I had this happen in a car one time...it was the U-Joints. I looked at mine last year and grabbed the drive shaft to see if they were loose..but nothing...So I thought I would drop...

    I wouldnt panic, My 2000 has been making that noise since I bought it 3 years ago with 77K and it now has 105k..It seems to vanish after it warms up...and when its at operating temp I hear nothing...I have tried different oil brands and weights, K&N oil filters, Motorcraft, and Wix which is napa...
