I admit I also run Baldwin or Wix filters in our construction equipment only as they are easier to procure. But you can't beat OEM whether filters or parts. The factory doesn't do builds with inferior parts, I learned that lesson years ago and apply that to everything. A friend of mine has a...
All my vehicles oil is changed every 3,000 miles. All get OEM filters and Castrol. Only the '16 gets Motorcraft Semi Synthetic due to the direct injection and the diesel F350 Mobile Delvac. I have taken heads off a few of them and can attest to the clean internals and lack of wear. Professional...
According to the information I have, P265/70R 17 @ 35-44 psi the load capacity is 2535 lbs. Above 35 psi the load capacity does not increase only the stiffness of the ride.
LT265/70R 17 @ 50 psi load capacity is 2470 lbs
@ 55 psi it is 2595 lbs
I just learned something new. Ford for some reason on the '07 up 5.4, made the VCT solenoid hole smaller on the valve cover so the cover has to be removed.
Also don't go by the shop manual all the time for example...dealer said it was 8-9 hours the change the blend door motor in the dash on the '04 & '06. Said the whole dash had to come out. Took me 45 minutes on the first one with the learning curve. When I did the next one 30 minutes.
If your engine is like my '06....you just pry out the gasket, use a torx screw driver and pull the solenoid out. Put the new one in, tap in new gasket and attach wire plug. Done. One of the easiest repairs I ever did on the 5.4
I have a book that lists all the tire size cross references from passenger to LT pressures. List on here the stock size and the new size and I'll give you the pressure. On another note I tried running the LT tires on my '06 Expy and hated them, the ride quality was not the same even with the...
You do not pull the valve cover on the 5.4. I did both mine in less than 30 min including making the tool. Would have been much faster to spend the $8 for the proper torx long screwdriver. I ended up grinding a torx socket and spot welding it to the 1/4"drive extension. I think the cost was...
There are 2 cam phaser solenoids. You only need to change them if the cam phasers start ticking. Most times that will quite the cams down. They have tiny oil passages and fine screens that can get plugged with too long intervals of oil changes or oil heavier than 5w-20. The 5w-20 oil and...
You are welcome! The plastic cover just unsnaps has 4 clips holding it. The mic holder is a Panavise dash mount for cell phones. it mounts behind the bezel. For antennas in your low clearance situation I would recommend the 3/4" NMO roof mount with dual shield coax and a 1/4 wave flexible whip...
Motorola APX7500 110w dual band vhf/uhf with the control head center console mounted, just remove and save the plastic cover plate. There is metal to mount to.
All antennas NMO roof mounts plus the modem antenna. A Motorola XPR5550 uhf has a handheld control head, another APX7500 uhf/7/800...
On my '04 about a month ago when it began to get cold over night it threw a PO171 code. Still starts, idles and runs fine. I cleared it and it came, back did this a few times...it would last maybe a not even a hundred miles and threw the code. Last time I reset the ECM so it would relearn the...
Found this online...." it depends on the trucks build date, up to 9/15/08 the fuel filter is located on the side of the fuel tank and it is serviceable, after 9/15/08 the filter is part of the fuel pump and is not serviceable"
I will throw this out there for reference. The '04 Expedition fuel filter is the easiest I've ever changed. Can do it on the ground and in less than 5 minutes. The '06 was a little bit more of a hassle.
I don't know what all the fuss is about. My OEM headlights in the '16 are fine and they don't blind on coming drivers on low. On dark roads the highs are perfect.
No your tail lamp assemblies are awesome, just throwing the LED color info for anyone thinking of just changing bulbs. After I wrote the post I noticed that the person with the 3rd brake light had indeed purchased red LEDs for his project.
When replacing the bulbs in the third brake light or any colored lens....the LED color must match the lens color. Never use a clear LED in a colored lens.
