Finally got these on. 20" with Blizzaks from Tirerack. TPMS picked them up about 10 minutes down the road and best of all, no vibrating like my stock tires!!
Okay I hate to resurrect this thread, but my wife and I just got back from vacation (5 days) and battery was totally dead. I had both monitors updated to 2973 but something still drained the battery. I checked the updates again nothing is available so I just unplugged power to both monitors and...
Well the dealer is keeping our Expedition for a day or two to check the driveshaft balance. I told my service guy to watch one of the tires wobble on the balancer and there’s the culprit. He says he pretty much agrees, but we’ll let them attempt some other troubleshooting before they replace...
So on tire rack, if I add the TPMS it gives me the option to also buy the activation tool for $45. However, it also says that if you drive for 20 minutes the vehicle will learn the new sensors. Anyone know for sure if I need the tool or will the vehicle automatically learn the different sensors...
Hey guys, I was originally going to just get a set of 22" snow tires and take em in every season and get them swapped out, but the more I think about it I think I want to get a set of wheels so I can just do it in my garage. I've only run Blizzaks before so I'm defiantly going with them, but...
Just talked to my service guy, he seems to agree that the tires need replaced. Taking it back in Tuesday morning, we'll see what happens then! Always an adventure!
Well this tech wrote that "vibrated badly at 60mph. Balanced tires and drove again, some vibration at 80mph."
I've only driven it home from the dealer, but I would say the vibration is worse now. I'm going to push pretty hard for new tires, this is ridiculous in a 90k vehicle.
And to the...
Got our Expedition back from the dealer today. They balanced the tires and checked the alignment. Now it vibrates worse, would be almost impossible to take on a road trip! Calling the dealer back first thing in the morning.:emotions122:
So a friend of ours runs a Les Schwab shop in town, he road force balanced all four tires this morning and said they're all bad. Drove straight to the dealer and the head service tech drove with us to verify that it needs something done. Scheduled to go in Tue morning to see what they can do...
I called one dealer today, they want to keep our Expedition for up to 3 days to fix this. Calling the other dealer (that I was trying to avoid) tomorrow to see what they say. In the meantime I'm more than likely going to just go over to Discount Tire and have them balance (or try) the tires...
That's ridiculous, but I have to ask if the vibrations stopped after they tried to balance the tires? We just picked our Expedition last week and it starts vibrating around 68mph, calling the dealer tomorrow.
We just picked up our Expedition yesterday and one of the first things I did when we got home was update both monitors. Latest update available was 2964 and everything “seems” to be operating and shutting off normally.
This is great! We just waited 8 months for our Expedition to get built and delivered to the dealer and now it sounds like we get to deal with this issue when we get it picked up. Thanks, Ford, can’t wait!!
