I asked a dealer the other day and they said the cutoff date for ’22 orders is the 18th of the month. I haven’t seen anything else regarding that date, anyone have any info?
I totally agree, I just don’t know what else to do at this point! Dont want to go back to minivan, wife thinks Sequoias are too ugly, surburabans & Yukons-no thanks, Navigator doesn’t have enough room behind 3rd row. We have 3 boys going on teenagers so we need something big.
That leaves us...
Wow.. We just got ours back from the dealer after two weeks this time. We’ve had the valve control body replaced once due to hard downshifting, but twice now we’ve had the transmission spew the fluid out and overheat and obviously not stay in gear. This time they claim it was overfilled and they...
You have me beat, but barely. I think we’re bailing on our ‘18 and hoping for better luck with a ’22.
Mostly transmission issues for us also, along with lots and lots of little issues, couple of days a piece at the dealer.
What a pain.
What‘s wrong with tranny that they finally gave up on it?
Well I'm of course still waiting to hear back from them!! No updates but I agree that overfilling is probably but the culprit!
Hopefully next day or two I hear back to see what they say.
It's a 4wd and supposedly the seal from the transmission to transfer case. This other dealer says that this time it seems like it was overfull and "pushed the transmission fluid out" but they didn't specify where this time. (post above). Waiting to hear more.
So the dealer thinks the transmission was overfull, but they're going to pull the pan off and "check around" to see if they can find anything else that may have caused this issue twice now. Before both of these "incidents" we did have the valve control body replaced so who knows. Sounds like...
Yeah I agree and now that the seal has gone twice that makes more sense. I’ll let you guys know what I find out from the dealer, hopefully by the end of the week.
So imagine if you have all your ski stuff packed in like that and you lose transmission fluid, coast down to Summit Ford. They’re of course closed and there are no rental cars available. So there you are with all your ski stuff packed to the gills, kids crying because they wanted to ski so bad...
We went and looked around a little today and pretty much decided that if we replace this Expedition, it will be with a '21 or '22 that will hopefully be more reliable.
I grew up on a farm and we have only owned Ford trucks as long as I can remember and off the top of my head I can't think of...
2018 Limited Max 4x4 around 43k miles
Been in and out of dealer pretty much since we got it:
Mirrors popping computer flash
Front Strut replaced
Rear differential grinding and/or locking up
Front left wheel bearing
Cam phaser re-flash (cam phasers need replaced in my opinion, dealer says ops...
So for the second year in a row our Expedition has stranded us on a ski trip. Same issue as last time (I assume) with seal going out on the transmission.
It's not only that, but we've had it in numerous times for warranty work since we bought it new.
So I guess my question is, what do you...
Just got our front left wheel bearing (finally) replaced yesterday. Powertrain warranty covered it and now no more noise, so nice.
Good luck. (42k miles)
Our front left wheel bearing had been going out since this summer. At first I thought it was just tire noise, but it didn't go away when we swapped the snow tires on. Got it into the dealer after Christmas and they're replacing the bearing Tuesday.
Over Christmas we did a 600mile roadtrip...
I replaced ours with the Autozone Duralast Platinum. Came with 3 year warranty so if it ***** the bed I'll just take it back there. We do lots and lots of short hops to school and back so I'm sure that didn't help it, plus we're in Colorado so the weather doesn't help, either.
I'm finally getting ours in tomorrow. I'm almost certain it's a wheel bearing. Humming (sounds kinda like tire noise) has gotten worse the last month or two. Goes away when you turn right. Seems like front left bearing to me, will update tomorrow when I hear back from dealer.
Shoot, our Expedition has been making lots of noise, I assumed it was the tires, but it may be the damned front wheel bearings.. I better get it checked out.. Covered under extended warranty?? (just turned 40k miles)
Yesterday we received a $250 gift card from Ford with a nice little note apologizing about us having to take our Expedition into the dealer so many times.
Anyone else get one of these??

We went with that one, have used it a few times. Probably cheaper than the others, but seems to work decent enough hauling our boy's bikes around.
