    Bad battery?

Have you checked the fluid level of the battery? It is suggested to remove connector from post, clean, retighten connector. https://www.quora.com/What-causes-car-battery-terminal-corrosion

    FRONT END NOISE

Thanks, blue oval guy...... not a hub bearing......definitely a (road) scrapping noise. Noise is gone. May have been plastic debris that finally left the scene.

Thanks, moose. Both cars are 300HP auto trannies, but I think her Mustang has rear-end gears of 3:31 (or higher) compared to my vette's 2:79. Ratios are close, but my '92 vette would not be competitive in a ¼ mile drag race with the '06 Mustang.

You are so right, MrSticker. Used price is about $6K. Low mileage doesn't seem to influence price on SUVs. Doesn't matter to me as I don't have much time left, and my XP isn't going anywhere.

    FRONT END NOISE

Thanks for the interest, John. Yes, 18.500+ is the actual mileage, as I bought it new. Used only for local errands. If leaving the city limits, it is usually in this vehicle (1992 Corvette 66,600+ miles): My wife has her own toy ( 2006 Mustang GT 35,000+ miles) which helps keep my vehicle...

    FRONT END NOISE

You may be right, moose. I'm hoping it was just a piece of plastic lodged in the suspension, and finally worked free (?).

GOOD FIX, IF IT IS A FIX. Headed to shop for inspection. Crossed over a dip near my house that created the scrapping noise. No noise. I'm 86, so I didn't realize that the dip didn't create a noise at that time. Came to my senses about another 30ft, and realized no noise. Made a quick...

    FRONT END NOISE

2004 4.6 18500 miles. I'm crippled, so I'm just looking for help prior to going to a shop. I can only view the engine bay. On a flat surface, no noise. Entering/leaving from a slight dip in the road, I hear a rubbing sound that disapates immediately when returning to a flat surface. Noise...

    Highest Mileage

The '04 is only used for local trips.....Costco, etc. Transportation outside the city limits is in my vette. Re my fishing hole.....check my avatar.....no fishing hole, but did fish commercially until a few years ago.

    Highest Mileage

That beats me.... my 2004 has 18,750 (owned since new).

    Need new key fob

Research eBay....... no risk of theft by programming your keys (owners manual).

    Fuel gauge erratic movement

If the cost of replacing the float/pump doesn't interest you, use trip mileage divided by 10 gallons (conservative estimate) to determine fuel usage.

    18MPG around town on 03 5.4l

2004 XLS 4.6 2WD owned since new. Never paid attention to MPG as XP annual mileage was about 1200. Now, with fuel gage problem, I'm using trip odometer as the determining factor for fuel. Last reading was 10.1 MPG - not an average as the XP is only driven in town.

    Gas tank won’t fully fill

My 2004 XP, no fill problem since new. Wife's 2006 Mustang is on the 3rd canister. Never a code, would only take half-a-tank of fuel. Original canister lasted 12 years, second canister lasted 3 years. Replacing the canister always solved the problem immediately.

    Gas tank won’t fully fill

Common Ford problem. Research fuel vapor canister - about $160 from RockAuto, about 1 hour labor, if you can't do it yourself.

    Blower barely blows

Any auto/electric shop can test the blower motor, if you are not familiar with testing electric motors. Or, just replace the motor. Cost of motor is about $26- $32 from RockAuto.
