I'm curious as to where you got that payload number from? That is much higher than other Timberlines as well as my XLT which has less content. Did you get that off the tire and loading information sticker on the door jam as each vehicle is different? Here is the community spreadsheet with the...
For what it is worth, the 2022 order guide states this note for the limited, king ranch, and platform (not the others, not to say it simply isn't an error):
"Horsepower and torque ratings based on premium fuel per SAE J1349® standard. Your results may vary."
Interesting. I thought the pre-refresh we test drove had it as well, though it might have been a 2020 I think. Regardless it wouldn't be hard to implement it though Ford would never go back and do it. At least the 18s have a lot more other features that weren't de-contented in the layer model years!
Directly from the 2022 manual:
Fuel Quality - Selecting the Correct Fuel
SELECTING THE CORRECT FUEL
Your vehicle operates on regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum pump (R+M)/2 octane rating of 87.
Some fuel stations, particularly those in high altitude areas, offer fuels posted as regular...
My understanding is the increase is just software tuning differences between the models except for the Timberline and Stealth Performance which have different engine parts (like the turbos and other items I believe). I'm sure others can provide more info.
As for fuel, premium is recommended but...
To add to the above, the front camera does automatically turn on at slow speeds when the front parking sensors detect an object. I realize that may not suffice for every parking situation but is better than nothing. Also on the smaller touchscreen model there is a dedicated hard button for the...
I recently had a similar sound I thought was from coming from inside the dash area. Turned out the wife hadn't put the sun visor back into the clip to hold it and it was bouncing and hitting that clip causing the sound. Can't hurt to check that IMO.
The factory non-power ones are probably best. These should be the Max version. I would assume they fit with little work but don't know that for sure.

That is a good sign at least. The guide can change throughout the year though. This happened a lot when parts were in short supply. They kept removing items and updated the guide accordingly. Might be best to see if there is a newer one out there and see what it says (unless that is the latest...
I went with the following. It is a little pricey but really well made. It only works with the Motorcraft filter (old and new) but that is all I use.
Motivx Tools Oil Filter Wrench Compatible with Motorcraft FL-400S, FL-500S, FL-910S and Mazda YF09-14-302A, LF05-14-302B Oil Filters - Dual Size...
Most time consuming part is removing the felt protector where the oil drain bolt is located. I do my oil changes with the vehicle level and the trough Zak mentions where the filter is makes you think the oil will come forward. It doesn't do that, it still flows out the back of the trough so if...
I believe the battery management system monitors battery state of health and state of charge. If you install a new battery and don't reset the system it will think the old battery is still in there so you want to reset it. Here is what my manual says (no scan tool needed):
The ELSD is always active and you can't turn it off via the dash button. The button allows you to lock the clutches to simulate a rear locker though it can be overcome by torque. I'm assuming that is what you meant but wanted to clarify for others that may read this thread.
