    I have no direct experience with this brand but most aftermarket CAIs are a waste of money unless you have significant hp mods. a good filter and the Gotts mod are plenty enough for 99% of all expys. they do look nice and sound good also though.

    those codes are for th 2 front o2 sensors. could be water contam in the connectors, vac leak ... ck for vac leaks then ck the connectors from the O2 sensors.

    that is the new switch and jumper new style. I still like to run the fused jumper with it, because even though this is a new design there is still a fuse problem with those wires.

    Replacing coolant hoses this weekend

    the rear heater hose is nearly impossible. ther is a special tool for the clamps that is a remote squeeze grip setup that makes it a little easier. there is also a special tool to release the hoses from the heater core also. just asking but what have you tried so far?

    IF your expy came from a lower altitude ti may need to adjust to the altitude[barometric pressure]. you can speed this up by doing several WOTs [wide open throttle] while driving. the computer adjusts the baro only at WOT.

    Opinions on repair bill...

    That job call for about 6 hrs to do it by the book 4.6 for valve covers 1.0 for diag and .4 to install the vct solenoids. at $90 that is $540 labor + 385 ro the solenoids and gaskets. that is real close to what we would charge at the dealer. the solenoids are 135 each.

    Is your rear end a limited slip? if it is a drain and refill with 2 bottles of friction modifier along iwth new synthetic fluid.

    your trans is only due for a flush at 100,000 miles unless you are doing heavy towing. the new fluid is different and a flush at that mileage is fine with the new fluids. It takes a new type of fluid make sure if you get it flushed they use it because other fluids will ruin the trans.

    2001 expedition wont start but turns over

    one quick and easy check is to find the fuel press port [looks like tire valve] on the fuel rail. now depress the little tab in the center tab fuel should gush out, now turn key off and on several times and try again. there should be a lot come out if not pump is probably bad.

    damn manifolds

    I used a small 1/4 drive socket 12 point [7mm I think] and drove it on the broken stud's nub with the manifold still on and it turned right out. installed a new one sealed right up.

    I had one broke on my drivers manifold. drove a small 1/4 drive socket 7mm maybe 12point onto what was sticking out and it came right out[210,000 miles] . screwed in a new one and put a nut on worked great noise gone. I may have got lucky but most of the stud come right out.
