Crank, no start. @10 minutes - reset(?) - starts, runs fine.

New day..... spent the am reviewing owners manual, and google solutions to various no-start conditions. Into the xp.....turned key to 'on'. all dash lights seemed normal. Fuel needle rose rapidly to near the max position. XP started nicely, no check eng. light, or other malfunction indicator...

Crank, no start. @10 minutes - reset(?) - starts, runs fine.

Thanks KC, and thank you for the good wishes. I have never watched the fuel gage move during refueling as the key is always in the 'off' position. This was my first time refueling with the engine running.. But, after prior fill-ups, the fuel needle always moved to the max mark rapidly after...

Crank, no start. @10 minutes - reset(?) - starts, runs fine.

Thank you, KC. Would a faulty/failing fuel pump driver module present the symptoms I have described? From an online source: Failure The fuel-pump driver module is the most common part to fail in computerized diesel engines. When first installed in the technologically advanced diesel engines...

2004 XLS 4.6 --- 2nd event in 2 months. Drove the xp in the AM - all good. Shopped at Costco - no start to return home. Prior event I was in shock to notice any dash info. This time I had my senses - no security flashing, but still tried another key. Still no start. Fuel gage slightly...

So the check engine light started blinking...

When the CHECK ENGINE light illuminates, it usually means a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) has been set. You need to buy a code reader, or visit AutoZone (or others) that provide a FREE code read. If a code has been set, you will understand what the computer is telling you about the engine.

    Frozen/Stuck hood release. HELP!

Thanks stamp, interesting video. Now, I have a billet grill that does not provide the space as shown with the 150. I guess my solution is to remove the grill (?), or keep the mechanism lubricated.

    Black plastic trim restore

Thank you, Robert. It should look new with only 17,900 miles, especially from the exterior. The XLS doesn't come with an interior. Kinda like the Flintstone car. :waytogo::favorites13:

    Leather Care

For the leather part of your seats, you might try saddle soap followed by mink oil. They both are in paste form, and come in large shoe polish cans for about $1.50/ea. They are usually located in the shoe department of local stores. Have used these products on my Corvettes for 25 years with...

    Coolant leak from unknown location

You sure the liquid was coolant? "A lake of coolant" would measure more than "slightly low". What other liquid could it be? Brake fluid, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, oil, differential fluid, window washer fluid, that is all I can identify. Leaks seldom, if ever, heal themselves...

Intermittent low fuel and oil pressure light

Batt going dead in several days is not normal. My '04 may sit for 14 days, and starts immediately. To check for a parasitic drain, connect an ammeter between the + batt post and the + batt cable. Pull and replace one fuse at a time, and when you see an decrease in amps, you have located the...

PLEASE HELP : Slow to fill gas tank solutions??

Good for you, Eddie. When my 2006 Mustang GT developed a "slow fill" problem, I was not aware of this video, so I bought a new vapor canister ($200 + $100 installation).

    Black plastic trim restore

Is this product perfect....NO!, but it works on trim and tires, and at $14/gallon (5 gallon jug) it serves me well. An application lasts about 3 months, and takes about 2 pints. I'm crippled, so any application is a tedious, painful chore. Use a 6" brush ($2.91 eBay) and a large pail. and...
