    Headlight weirdness

    I just don't understand how Ford could redesign the Expedition and screw up something like headlights. Then to have to take the bumper and other things off to get to the adjustments is ridiculous. Makes you wonder what else they screwed up on a beautiful new truck.

    Yes, it was a higher operating temp. I don't remember the exact temp. but believe it was 15 degrees hotter than a standard temp thermostat. I'm getting about one and a half mile increase per gallon. I was surprised.

    If you have done a tuneup and eliminated a poor running engine. Try installing a hotter thermostat. I did that to my 03 Expy and the mileage improved.

    Polish or replace headlight?

    Sweet projects cars has a video on youtube about headlights. They us Mothers aluminum polish and a D A buffer. It doesn't work as quick as the video but it works. Much easier than by hand.

    Scotty Kilmer has a video on cats. I believe it's 1 gallon of lacquer thinner to 9 gallons of gas. Run it through the engine and it's supposed to clean the cat. Check it out it may help

    5 star tune...

    How much weight are you towing? I have an 03 EB 5.4 and tow a 5000 lb boat and trailer. It tows very well. Make sure your not in overdrive especially going uphill. On flat areas and downhill, I can use overdrive with my setup without a problem.

    The third row is motorized up and down, it has a moon roof, heated and cooled seats and a 6 cd changer I thought most of those options were standard on the EB. I have them all.

    Wow, That could be a picture of my truck. Same colors and I have the hood deflector and window inserts just like yours.

    You email says it's an Explorer. Is that an error. The price is high even if it is in good shape. You should be able to get that down. Check the rocker panels and radiator core support. These areas are prone to rust. I have on 03 EB Expedition and it has been a great vehicle. Good Luck.

    I had to replace the passenger rocker 3 years ago. How is your radiator core support? They rot pretty bad. Mine is rusted but truck runs without a problem. A guy had a video where he welded three brackets under the support and it worked. It's been over 2 years and still going strong

    Don't feel too bad moose it a PIA but easily resolved. I read about a guy who had an operation to repair a bad left knee and the surgeon replaced the right one by mistake. Now that's a problem. You know what they say. Shit happens. Put the plug in the other tire and have a beer.
