Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but a good friend of mine went through this with a 2016 F-150 and it took the dealer multiple attempts to fix it. During my research for a 17 expy I found this in the F-150 forums. Hopefully Ford has a solution to the problem.
IWE issues (vacuum or front...
Have you ever been stuck in wet clay or sand? Still a need for them here especially if you have a fishing boat.
Personally I will never purchase a truck or suv without AWD or 4x4 even if I don't need it often, there will be that 1 time you wish you had it plus resale is so much easier than 2wd...
I hope others answer to your question is yes Ford backs their vehicles and wants happy satisfied customers.
They really should. I just checked my 17 warranty. 5years unlimited mileage (perforation only). That's not very good.
When I was looking to replace my 2002 Tacoma I couldn't believe...
I like it. Great idea on the rust protection. I'm originally from Northern NYS and man does the salt kill vehicles up there.
I have a black 17 XLT EL. I was thinking of getting rid of the badges and replacing all the chrome accents including the grill and expedition bar across the back with...
By the way I also traded in my 2016 Camaro SS (455HP/455lb-ft) with the Sequoia on the 17 Expedition. The SS was a great deal of fun, too much power (when you hit 130mph passing quickly) great handling/brakes and I was averaging 23mpg even with a lead foot. GM does a great job with their...
You are not kidding about contributing to our economy. I can tell you Alabama is happy to have them.
Toyota Motor Corp and Mazda Motor Corp said on Wednesday they will build a $1.6 billion joint assembly plant in Alabama that will employ up to 4,000 workers...
I wasn't trying to sell Toyota just saying I expect my Ford to be problem free with regular maintenance like I'm used to. Do that and I would be a repeat customer as long as the price is decent and let the OP know I have high expectations and the 17 rental/fleet I bought is much better than his...
I'm a quality fan & the 3 Toyota trucks I have owned with the lowest mileage one being 125,000 when I sold it, has it down. Zero non maintenance repairs on all 3. At this time I couldn't afford another Sequoia. Even coming in last place they really are expensive used because people want them...
It's specifically designed for turbo motors so I can imagine they could be sued if damaging. Then again if you don't follow the instructions.....
Also there are so many work trucks, vans and cars with an ecoboost motor that will never get a induction cleaning or oil catch can, we will surely...
You can add an oil catch can but have to drain it every so often or clean the intake valves with a spray to remove carbon which is shown below. If there are intake issues with ecoboost engines, they will be exposed. The service companies I have worked for all use Ford as their full sized vans...
I did a search but did not find this posted. Here's a car guy showing a rather easy way to clean intake valves on a GDI (only, as opposed the new version of turbo motor with gas injection added to clean the intake valves). He's even doing it on a Ford.
I have a 17 EL XLT with a moonroof and around 30,000 miles. I take mine through an automated car wash a couple times a month. No leaks. I'm just adding to the tally of no issue but do believe there can be issues and I would be upset if Ford didn't fix it. These are not cheap vehicles. Jeez I...
That guy is hilarious with great information. Well Ford had to do something. The Camaro was much better performer pre 2018.
I just traded in a 2016 Camaro SS with a 07 Sequoia on this Expedition. That car had a 6.2 455hp/455lb ft stock and was FAST yet with magnetic dampening suspension a...
Coming from Toyota, I do miss the roll down rear window. My dogs get confused by the side windows only opening a small amount and with the folded seats my greyhounds heads are at the very top of the rear door windows.
Aftermarket would be way too pricey for this.
What octane?
Got my 17 used with around 28,000 miles on it. I am impressed with the gas mileage I was getting with 87. I traded in a 2007 Sequoia that was averaging around 14mpg. In the same kind of driving, I'm getting 17.8mpg.
I recently switched to 93 octane to see what difference it makes.
They kept saying in North America, are they selling elsewhere? Also the standard sales car with many companies is the Fusion. I've worked for 2 companies in the last 10 years that lease thousands of them.
I guess they must let them go with lower profit than trucks and SUVs.
Maybe they need...
If my expy is problematic, back to Toyota I go until they become problematic then onto whatever is rated most reliable.
With how much vehicles have gone up in price (guys are asking for advice on which $80,000 vehicle to buy in the gen 4 forum) we should demand near flawless vehicles that last...
HP per liter has gone up significantly over the years.

The volvo xC90 is impressive:
The XC90's turbocharged and supercharged 2.0-liter engine makes 316 horsepower, giving it a specific output of 158...
I had this same discussion with a co-worker. Ford's F150 has been the sales leader for what, 40 years? Do you think they would put anything in the vehicle that would mess with that status? If so everyone at the top of the company should be fired.
Also Diesels have had turbos for quite...
