be careful when you bleed it and dont let the brake pedal go all the way to the floor, you risk ruining the master cylinder by pushing the seals farther then they normally travel and can get into the accumulated gunk that collects in the far end of the cylinder.
I would gravity bleed it first...
the thing about these bolts that hold the hub on is that they are tight coming all the way out, not just breaking them loose. And a few aren't real easy to get to
A quick hit with the torch makes the job a LOT easier. I would not do it any other way
I have an old spark plug boot with a long bolt jammed into the end where the wire would go for a handle
I am talking about a standard spark plug boot from and old car engine, not one of these new style ones
nice thing about it is its flexible since the boot is made from silicone rubber
boy and I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
I actually like the wheels that came with my truck, I just wish they weren't pitted I would like to touch them up if I could figure out how to there are many different opinions on this I am finding
only thing I can add to this is after being a mechanic for 20+ years I always do the hardest part of the job first, then the rest is easy. And I am fresh when tackling it, not tired
Just makes any hard job a little easier
I still would like to know about how he said he his bent axle when he was trying to jack up the rear of his truck a few months back if anyone remembers that fiasco
boy oh boy
really man chill out. I stand by what I said
don't jump out a window over it
Once again I never said it would hurt his motor
nice copy/paste on the definition, very smart of you
I could care less what you think
with an engine over 100k miles, and the summer heat coming on I will take my oil a little thicker thank you very much
bye bye to you too, pleasure chatting with ya
the lug nuts are covered with a thin sheet of shiny metal, they are not solid like they look. After some time the metal starts peeling off and then the socket gets stuck on it, sometimes real bad where you have to take a hammer and tap the socket on to get it off then pry it out of the socket...
I never once said in this entire thread that it would damage your engine so if you are addressing that to me I have no idea why.
The closest I said was these engines can be finicky on oil and I stand by that
yeah the lug nuts suck. I have a few that are coming apart
I have seen nice ones on Amazon, I was just too cheap to buy a complete set but I need to one of these days
