I suspect you can either get more out of your WDH or you need "bars" that transfer more weight... here's what I was able to do with my EAZ Lift and 600lb bars:
F Axle Ht R Axle Ht F Trlr Ht R Trlr Ht F Axle Wt R Axle Wt Tr Axle Wt Tongue Wt Link # (from loose end) GVWR
Unloaded 36 36.5 19.5 19.5...
+1000. With the explosion of automotive youtubers etc. I think the term automotive journalist is thrown around like those folks are Woodward & Bernstein (Watergate if that's too old of a reference). In almost every case they are given whatever information the auto maker decides to give them...
This is where I come down, more or less. Now, it's very easy to get ripped off and over pay for an extended warranty, or a bad 3rd party warranty... but if you buy direct from Ford at or near cost (several easy ways online to shop for this), I think the odds you'll lose a lot of or all of your...
Actuaries win because they diversify risk... people buying one vehicle don't have that option. On average, you will be better off not buying a warranty, while in all likelihood the actuary will win either way (kind of like a bookie).
I do wonder where the pendulum will land eventually; it appears to be hurtling towards huge screens in everything. I was super-excited for the RWD Explorer to come back, but when I saw the huge screen implementation I was really disappointed. I really like approximately an 8 inch screen...
Reviews and reliability are different things. I'm not saying it's not reasonable to disagree with either at certain times, but a vehicle can be excellent to drive but also really unreliable. There's also a really bad tendency for people to try to extrapolate their experience to everyone or...
If this isn't addressed right away does it eventually cause future problems? I do hear a slight "clatter" when I start up but everything seems fine, don't even think I'd notice it if it wasn't for reading forums?
Has anyone had any issues with Ford service after installing these? Is this considered a wear item anyway and a non-issue? Thanks to anyone who has any knowledge, never done anything like this to a vehicle under warranty before.
I think generally, you can always buy one as long as you are still under the factory warranty, and I think you can buy outside the warranty if you have the vehicle inspected by a dealership. However the longer you wait the more expensive the coverage gets. Also pricing changes (increases) in...
Exactly. The availability of at-cost or near-cost extra coverage direct from online Ford dealers almost makes limiting yourself to CPO a bad idea, if it can be. Just find the Ford you want and factor in the coverage to your purchase price.
Thanks, that's definitely something we experienced, good to know they would help my situation as well. Do the SuperSprings eliminate the porpoise action? Reduce a little, or a lot? Thanks again.
My point was, no squat when properly adjusted... so do the sumosprings help with anything else, while driving? That's what I was curious about, seems like people mostly buy them for anti-squat.
I'll second this - I haven't been able to get a tongue weight on my trailer yet, but we've towed as much as 5500lbs based on the trailer axles, and when my WDH is calibrated I get 1/2-3/4" of sag at most. Fixing that imbalance is going to do more to improve handling than anything else you might...
I just finished a 4K mile trip last month, towing the whole way. Approx 5400lb travel trailer. I really only had two complaints. Rear seemed to bob over bumps and be slow to recover. More importantly, when descending in the mountains and cornering, I would completely lose touch with the rear...
I don't have any sag issues due to the weight distribution hitch I have doing its job. However I did notice some side to side "squish" as well as bounciness over bumps in the rear that I'd like to reduce if it won't penalize the ride much or at all. In your opinion do the sumos help those...
I bought a 2020 Limited over Labor Day Weekend. It helps to have 3-4 dealers and vehicles to pit against each other. Try to cast your net decently wide, you can always decide to pay a little more to buy closer but my first best offer came from a dealership I probably wouldn't have visited...
1. I think you also get 360 camera and B&O Stereo, 22" rims and CCD with 302A, so it depends how you spec your Limited.
2. I passed on the 0% (purchased labor day weekend) and will refinance with another lender. I had a personal offer from Ford plus there was $2k from Ford plus another $1250...
As far as 3, I moved from a Ecoboost V6 Explorer into the Expedition. From what I understand they water pump is NOT inside the engine on the RWD-based trucks (Expedition/F series), there's enough room in the engine bay for an external application, so that is not an issue. I think the other...
Almost a week later and we have an answer - hubs were fine, wiring harness was fine, transmission control module was not. Ordered, here Wednesday, and hopefully back in the truck Wednesday. Anyone else have a similar issue?
I like Costco but I have to agree that unless you luck into a friendly dealership it will not save you money. You’re better off with X plan if you don’t want to negotiate.
Take a listen and let me know if you can help me diagnose this sound. Reminds me a little of cans dragging on concrete. Seemed to mostly occur in 6th gear and sometimes in 10th. Sounded like it was coming from beneath the driver side floor. We took a long drive and it seemed to only happen in...
