Happy New Year folks!
So in the spirit of extreme geeking, I'm planning to install a fan to draw air from the fender hole previously occupied by the uber restricted stock intake tube to bring additional cool air to the K&N.
On hot days it sucks in all the hot engine compartment air so I wanna...
Can you better isolate where on the vehicle the sound is coming from? Maybe get a friend to turn it off and on while you're looking under the hood ...? Under the valve cover, a pulley or tensioner, or a racoon maybe?

Finally updating my post-
So I did get quite a bit done this year:
K&N Cold air intake- fairly straightforward installation, love the look and sound
Magnaflo muffler installed has a subdued aggressive tone that is not overpowering in the cabin.
Rancho 9000 XL quick lift coil-overs...
Hi Bob,
Thanks for the feedback. I'd been kinda stuck on 4.11s as a given. Can't wait to hear your experience on the 4.56 results. Totally rethinking my options now and starting to hunt down more information.
Now....where'd I put that piggy bank?
Merry Christmas
Phil

Cool beans Bob!
What reason(s) made you choose 4.56 gears in particular? Read quite a few posts about 4.11s as well so wondering what advantage you are seeing? Going to be making a choice for my rig in '18 as I'm currently on 3.73.
I think you are going from 3.73 right?
Appreciate any...
I had to replace the seat cushion on my 04 EB and noticed that the blower inlet is vulnerable to getting clogged with material from the degrading cushion. You may wish to pull the cover and cushion to see if it's obstructed. The fan will switch off once it reaches a certain temperature so if...
I love my Falken AT3Ws, ride is excellent and noise is lower than the street tires that were on the truck when I bought it.
Running at 50psi and riding on Rancho 9ks .
Worth every penny.

Got it, thanks for the clarification. Were you running LED heads and fog lights?
I'm currently halogen headlamps and LED fogs....

Hi STP,
When you state that the LEDs in halogen housings "blow", do you mean they actually failed or that they just suck?
Love the power port setup, looks slick.

Stiff in the front is better for on road handling and was recommended by a few users. Adjusting from 1 to 9 is about a 400% difference in stiffness.
I'll continue to play.Takes about a minute to adjust soft for off road.
Rides really nice in town and on the highway. Rain coming this weekend so...
Hi Eddie
Thanks for the feedback.
I agree that it may have had issues unknown prior to this episode. I am the second owner of the truck, so it's anybody's guess.
Jet has been super helpful in trying to get me back on the road.
The replacement PCU arrived and is installed. All seems to be...
Hi Eddie,
Tried that, unfortunately the system can't communicate with anything. Errors out with "invalid configuration name" I spent a couple of hours with Jet support guys and they eventually gave up. Their opinion was that "maybe" the dealership could get it to talk and flash it.
Jet and...
Hey Scoot, no I haven't.
these are actually 33.8 and it all felt pretty good while it was moving. PCU is dead now so I have bigger fish to fry.
My dear kind dealership wants 2K to replace it. Strongly considering getting a refurbished unit from pro tech and taking my chances doing the repair...
Spent a couple of hours with Jet support guys doing that (disconnect the battery for 45 min) and everything else they could think of before they threw in the towel. They did try though.
I am thinking that this unit in particular is defective.
Hopefully they are willing to work with me on this...
Yes, but not when it cannot load the current configuration.
It's like a cell phone that got flashed with the incorrect firmware....a brick.

It was through the Jet programmer. Going from stock to 34" tires and wanted to have the systems adjust. I'd already sent the tool back to Jet a month ago as it was doing funny things when I set up the tuning for premium fuel. They updated the firmware and tested it, returned it to me and all was...
Thanks Bob
Bummed out that I bricked my PCM today trying to adjust the settings for the larger tires. Have to wait till Monday for the dealership to flash it and hopefully bring it back to life.
So wanted to play in the mud this weekend.
