My previous vehicle was a 2013 F150 with the Gen 1 3.5 EcoBoost. I traded it in with 185,000 miles and it was still running strong. It did have an occasion misfire in cyl 6 but nothing that affected overall performance. Nothing but general maintenance done.
Since 2018 models they are using...
The first week we owned our Expy, we parked by the front doors of a Cell phone store. When we went to leave we got the "No Key Detected". I had the stupid key in my hand. used the emergency method (in owners manual) got it started and drove straight to dealership. they replaced the battery...

Sounds like it might be more a result of differences in driving styles than anything else. I am very comfortable with the gear selection of the 10 speed. But then again, there also is likely a wide difference in what I see as a traffic jam versus what you see daily.
I agree that the Highway and country roads are the Expeditions forte. For us, it is really the perfect road trip vehicle. But as for the tranny downshifts and turbo lag, I do not have the same issues. My experience is quite the opposite. The tranny has been all but perfect and I have never...
My Expy is my daily driver and I love it. The wife also has an MKZ 3.0 AWD and it is truly a HOT ROD LINCOLN. Anyway, the Expy makes for a great commuter, especially in heavy snow (6" yesterday and coming down right now.)
I grew up in Minn-e-Snow-ta and never owned a 4WD until I was in my 40's. so yes, you can get around without it. But ... it was a game changer. Now that I live in the Dakotas, I will never be without a 4WD. You may only need it once in a blue moon, but sometimes when you need it, you NEED it.
2018 XLT 4x4 here and I am quite happy with ours. Fit and finish is quite good, I mean its not a BMW or Mercedes but I think it is much better than average for a non luxury brand.
No CCD here and I am very pleased with the ride quality. Smooth and capable (no mountains for me, but lots of...
Did you put it in "SPORT" mode? That will automatically put it in 4A.
I know that I once inadvertently changed the drive mode when I thought I was changing gears, but that was when I first got the Expy and was getting used to the dial shifter.
Ditto on the above. I do not have FX4 or HD Tow pkg so I have the 4 Auto only. Works great for me in the Dakota Snows but if I did anything remotely like serious off roading, I would play it safe and get the two speed Diff with Electronic Limited Slip.
But like I said earlier, my '18 went...
There are several threads on this site about MPG's and if you look through them, you will see that some people are all over the board on where their average MPG's are. Couple of observations;
a) don't trust the electronic thingy ... they are notoriously unreliable. i use it for general...
I had my Expi for a year before I inadvertently held the voice control button a little too long. Next thing I know I have Siri talking to me (I have an iPhone). My phone was connected via BlueTooth but not by the cord since I Prefer Synch to ApplePlay. Now I can text all I want while driving...
Use a code reader to see what codes it throws.
I am not a mechanic but I had a Navigator with the 5.4 that did what sounds like the same thing and it was the Cat converter. Did a Cat Delete and it purred.
