I had exactly the same thing happen but I have Farmer’s. I was rear ended on the highway so other driver was 100% at fault. His State Farm was paying for my rental car but once I learned my vehicle was totaled I had to go through my insurance to get the full 100% replacement coverage I paid for...
I think it’s safe to say you need the 12 pin connector to use the camera or TPMS. That’s why it can’t be used on an Expedition.

I think all 302A have CCD. In my opinion Ford CPO is just nice if you find it. Easy to buy Ford extended warranty at slightly above cost online from several different dealers on whatever you find. I wouldn’t buy without HD tow.
Go with a Max for greater wheelbase payload and rear axle rating. I’m not sure you need a Hensley but they work well - they would eat a lot of your payload depending on what else goes in the truck.
See here. I'm pretty sure it's the same procedure as on my 5th Gen Explorer as well, fixed mine and now seems to be within 0.5mpg or better. Once you've calculated the ratio of used gas to calculated you adjust it in the menu...
Airstreams have several characteristics (lighter weight per linear foot/lower profile/lower center of gravity) that allow them to tow "shorter than their weight". I've always been curious why Airstream doesn't advertise them scientifically this way, a la our 30 footer tows like a 25 footer...
I’m happier with more weight (than stock) on my front axle.. with that much on your rear you might find that your front fender is higher than you started meaning you can add more weight to the front. If you can get to within 1/4-1/2” you’re good.
when I weighed my Expedition empty it was very...
How planted did you feel towing with your rear axle so close to the limit and your front axle so light? We have a lighter and shorter trailer but when the front gets more than 400-500lbs lighter than the rear it’s not fun, and that’s nowhere near your scale #s. Not sure if it’s possible to move...
A more complicated equation I learned (and use) is that you get 20ft of trailer for your first 110” of wheelbase, then you get another 12” of trailer for every 4” of additional wheelbase.
so 24.6ft for the short wheelbase or 26ft for the Max. Maybe a little conservative but not a bad thing.
There’s a few variables that make the length important here and not in the instances you mention: boats are easier to tow than huge rectangles because they are way more aerodynamic. Also towing something gooseneck or 5th wheel style is much more stable than as a bumper pull. Expeditions towing...
I can only speak to '20, but CCD I think is part of the 302A package on Limited trim. Without that package you don't get CCD, it's probably the same for '21? I seriously doubt the actual seats changed, just the name - I would think listing photos would tell that story easily. Do you think you...
How many people are going to be in that Expedition when you tow? Much in the same way people say you can have Eco or Boost, but not both, you can either fill up your Expedition with people and stuff, or tow a heavy trailer... but not both. However the fact that you can get/do EITHER is what...
I wonder that too... I'm towing a travel trailer that's almost 6k lbs, I have the 22" tires and while I have been exploring options on tightening up the rear end (probably trying a Gen Y hitch first) I don't think the tires are even the 3rd or 4th weakest point. That may be different for other...
Totally agree on towing. If I go 65mph with my travel trailer I'm thrilled to get 9mpg! Dropping to 55-60 does improve the mileage a lot, which tells you you're fighting wind resistance. The engine and tranny don't really care at all, usually in 7/8 gear under 2500rpm just humming along...
Is this something those with lower profile tires feel is worth considering? I have the 22" wheels/tires on my Limited and there's just not much sidewall there... it's hard for me to imagine something stiffer offering much of anything except a harsher ride. Indeed, they may not even be...
I never noticed the issue in my case, but they did send updates to this via the Ford app... looks like as of 12/23/20 it was fixed so you might try again.
I know here in AZ once you sell 5 cars you need a dealer license (because there's no sales tax on private sales). TLDR you have a lot more research to do!
I don't know for sure, but if you just bought a 3rd party replacement then yes, that could be the issue. However if you buy a Chamberlain remote and that IS the problem that's how you solve it. That could certainly be a security feature.
I had difficulty with my GDO a few years back, and in my case it was solely because the unit had reached its limit of # of cars/openers programmed. When I cleared the memory and reprogrammed all the controllers I had no further issues. I now have a liftmaster, the issues I had were with a 20...
I had problems in the first 200 miles. Mine was I believe a bad actuator or something in the dash rather that the IWE itself but my issue manifested the same as you - I could make it go away in 4A.
Especially if you're not committing long term with the kids and everything else... travel trailers are "expensive" right now due to supply constraints... so there's little downside to renting due to long-term expense, as well as getting to know what you really want. When we finally bought a...
That's interesting, I always just assumed that was a limitation of the aftermarket wireless carplay modules out there, didn't even dawn on me that issue could be native to the whole platform.
