    At 245,*** I drove from central Florida to northern Wisconsin and towed a 3200lb boat back. Left Florida on Monday got back Friday. Truck flawless. Ran as high as 75mph on certain stretches of smooth pavement. Damn truck will live forever.

    I retired the ole gal. She’s relaxing in my garage. Been relieved of duty by 2021 Nissan Rogue AWD. The Nissan will assume all road responsibilities of 500-1000 miles week. Long live the ole gal.

    That’s not normal. Make sure your calculations are correct. I’ve got 240,*** and am getting exactly what the sticker mileage said when new. 12/16 mpg

    Yes. Parts and labor. Parts including both pinion and ring gears which actually looked fine. It was a couple bearings. Just about 500 miles on easy break in now so changing oil to Amsoil and putting a new diff cover. Original looks ratty.

    The knowledge here has helped me a lot. Lots of varying opinions and perspectives on these ole gals. As I sit here after just rebuilding the rear diff and a whole host of other repairs I lean on the experience of the folks here to decide when to call it quits on this old truck. Best wishes...

    We completely rebuilt the rear diff. I have the 9.75 LSD. Also did the axle bearings and seals while there. I’m breaking it in slowly and gently. Just up to 200 miles on break in. After 500 I’ll switch to Amsoil fluid and put a new diff cover. I burned up the diff w constant high speed...
