    I installed the factory tow hooks on my 98 XLT 2WD. As I recall they have a steel plate that fits inside the frame with the nuts integrated on the plate for the tow hook bolts to fasten to. I believe I had to drill holes also for the bolts to go through the frame as none were existing on mine...

    Yes I would restore and keep it. From your assessment, I would believe, you are well within your budget. Parts for me have been readily available. If the part is obscure there are many 1rst generations in the auto salvage yards to pick. Disclaimer: I am slightly biased. :signs8:

    If you have a sunroof, the drainage tubes could be clogged. Weed trimmer line works well to snake through and clean them so they are free flowing again .

    Thanks Joe, This one I estimate has about 1/8" play vertically at the steering wheel but none side to side. I will research it further now that I purchased it.

    Just my experience that I have seen a lot more trailers missing a wheel on the side of the highway than tow vehicles broke down. As a good preventive measure I would inspect, repack or grease trailer wheel bearings if not done recently.

    Good deal. I replaced the China intake recently on ole blue for OEM. Time consuming and a pain in the back reaching the rear of manifold. Changed thermostat and plugs also.

    Craigslist has always worked well for me here in the Southeast. There is an abundance of rust-free models here in about half of your price range.

    How difficult is it to replace a steering column on a 2002 Expedition? I am looking at purchasing another 2002 but the column feels a little loose.
