The wife hates the leather in KR. Of course thats what I love about the KR. The leather seems to be of a much better quality. To keep the wife happy the KR is out. The good news is an EB or limited is much easier to find and cheaper.
Is there certain years of 2nd gen or packages that have...
Thanks for the install info guys. Sounds pretty simple. I will still check with the local 4x4 shops on a price. If I can get it all done as cheap as Dib I will let someone else do the work.
Do you guys actually wheel these rigs or do they just look cool? I know mine will just look cool...
I think a buddy and I could get it installed in a half day. I would then take it to one of two alignment frame shops that I trust with a lifted rig. I will definitely get a price on install of the kit. If it's reasonable, like $400 or less, I would opt to let a shop bust there knuckles.
Thanks Dib, I understand now.
Mindgame: sounds like you have a very understanding wife. Mine is being pretty cool about me doing a little bit of modding to the future exp because I am giving up my other toy.
Mindgame and Tallsville where do you park those things, in a barn?
My...
I should have worded my question a little better.
The Daystar leveling kit lifts the front 2" with pucks. So there for I am assuming the front needs to come up 2" to get level with the stock back.
Truxx 3/2 brings up the front 3" and rear 2". Shouldn't it be a 3/1 lift kit to be level...
Yes, parking garages :Big Laugh:
They get a little tighter in the cities up here. I think most are atleast 7'.
What's the deal with the Daystar leveling kit being 2" pucks for the front and the Truxx being 3/2? Last I checked 3-2=1.
Thank you sir! My garage entrance is about 82" with the door seal. I could always move the seal and gain about an inch. The 2nd gen is about a half inch shorter then the 3rd gen. Nice to know I could do the 3/2 and 295 or 285.
I am liking the 05-06 King Ranch.
Your rig looks pretty bad! Could be a cool show. I will have to go back and read more on how they plan to do the show. I am guessing the fugitive is an actor. Curious to know how they would get past land owners and laws. Its not like they could just go stomp through someones barn.
oops, sunroof is added to my list.
Dib: That's good advice on 08 and up. I plan to look for the trailer tow package with 3:73 and LS. Thankfully I am in no hurry to buy and would be willing to fly to get what I want.
How tall is a 2nd gen with roof rack, daystar leveling kit and...
Since it looks like I will most likely get a 05-06 do you guys have any recommendations on must have options?
Here's what I have so far:
EB or Limited
Tow package with 3:73LS
No air suspension
Leather/heated seats
DVD (would be nice to have)
3rd row power fold
Dual climate control and...
The 3rd gen are great looking inside and out. If the price drops $4k come spring of 2012 I would buy an 07. Then again I like the idea of 2nd gen not being so fancy and new. That way I comfortable using it like a truck.
Currently we are leaning towards a low mileage 05-06 gen 2. It just makes financial sense. Sell Mustang and Jeep then pay cash. It will be tough to see the Mustang go but we need the space and a newer family rig. We are currently stuck in a small townhouse with a single car garage, dang...
That was exactly my concern. When the 150 got the six speed people were complaining about this problem. I know some guys ended up buying Rams because you could still get a five speed with better passing power. The Explorer I test drove had a six speed and a 4.6L V8 and it was a dog. 4.6L in...
Check out the thread I put in general yesterday. It has some of what your probably looking for.

I have also used wikipedia. It lays out the changes pretty good.

I am debating which to get...
I will have to check out the mileage difference. That could make it worth the extra $.
Don't feel bad that you can't run E85. It may be cheaper but you will get horrible gas mileage. Its pretty much a wash. The only nice thing about having E85 in the midwest is be able to have cheap race...
