svfetter, dont know if its any different on a 2011 than on my 2008 but worth a try (from my owners manual)
Deactivating/activating perimeter lamps illuminated entry
You may perform the following power door lock sequence to
enable/disable the perimeter lamps feature.
Note: Before...
Nope. You cant remove it. It's the only thing behind the rear bumper and is an integral part of the the rear frame. You get rear ended without it and the spare tire is the only thing protecting you.
The 3rd row can be removed. Most of the SSV Expeditions came without a 3rd row and just had a...
The 2nd gen do have a smaller opening than the 3rd gen. Also, the 09-up 150's have a totally different setup for the NAV setup than the Expys. They use a separate screen with the controls further down the center stack.
Matt
jyoungky, are you sure it's 3-2 downshift not 4-3 ? Because the 4-3, 5-3 and 6-3 downshift noise issue has a TSB already, just hope you're still under warranty because it requires replacing the friction plates in the tranny = about 11-12 labor time plus parts.

Bring it to the dealer and have them reflash the computer using TSB 08-22-07
What you are describing is /was a common issue with the 07-08 Expys. Usually, the reflash takes care of the issue. Mine had the same problem and I had the reflash done and it it's been fine ever since.
Matt
Looks good. Are the front seat headrests done the same way or are they held with brackets ( hard to tell in pic )
You doing the drivers side 2nd row too?
Matt
Bill the headrests do come off, you just have to know how to do it.
If you push the top of the seatback cushion (where the rods go in) down you will see a small clip, carefully remove this and the headrest will slide right out.
By the way, this works for the 3rd row seat headrests...
I would think lowering the idle speed would make the A/C compressor run slower and not cool as well.
I've seen people complain about how their Expy doesn't cool as well at idle as it does when driving due to the RPM's being so low at idle.
Matt
Unfortunately on the 07 and 08 Expys it does NOTHING!!!! Supposedly it was put there for bluetooth but they never followed through until 09.
I know some of the Lincolns had it functional though.
Matt
That's why I opted for the power running boards. They are there when you want them and you can just shut them off when you dont. My wife and kids are short so they need them. Plus when deployed they are lower to the ground and out to the sides more than the fixed running boards, feels more like...
tjharder74,
According to the owners manual ( page 32) if you press the "SETUP" button and scroll through to "FRONT PARK AID" you can disable/enable it by pressing "RESET" or put the vehicle in "D" (Drive) and press "RESET".
Matt
tonydiv,
I wasn't saying it was impossible. Believe me I know "anything" can be done with a little ingenuity, time and money. I was just letting you know that it wasnt the easiest thing to do.
Years ago Ford used these big backup sensors that stuck out of the rear bumper and definately looked...
Front sensors are mounted into the front bumper ( perfectly flush and blended ) - no way to "relocate" them without leaving holes.
Can you turn off the "parking aid" via the message center on the dash? It will probably shut off the reverse ones also though.
Maybe the dealer can reprogram...
Looks like I'm with the majority that has 2 kids. Plus a 85-90lb yellow/white lab that is no longer allowed in the Expy because he sheds so much.:frown: The black lab I had before would have at least blended better with the black interior.
Matt
Bill,
I had the same problem as this on my 06 F150. Turned out it was the IWE solenoid. It had gotten water in it and caused it to lock up the passenger front hub on occasion. Ford replaced it under warranty and the new part had a water shield on it, so Ford must have had a few complaints and...
