We got it back from the mechanic....he dosent evem know whats wrong, looks like were gonna be taking this on on my next day off
Btw mechanic said u joints are fine but were gonna check them
idk what is wrong at all its so confusing, what your saying tom makes sense but the thing that we dont understand is the truck never used to do this, and in order to get in our garage when it snows u need to use 4wd and u need to turn the wheels to full lock (our alley is tight and our garage...
we tried on snow and dry pavement with the wheels at full lock, the truck comes to a stop and you cant make it move at all, it never used to do this though in all the time hes had it, he bought it almost new in 2000 with like 25,000 miles on it and this is the first time we had this problem with...
The gotts mod? Basically pull out your air intake box, u know the cone that gose into the fender, well u replace that piece with a less restrictive 3 inch diameter pipe and then put the air intake back togther. U get throttle response and exhaust gets throatier. I also installed a true flow...
well I installed my true flow intake today, came around 3pm with UPS, looks real good and if anyone has any questions about throttle response all I can say is HOLY SH*T!!!!! I AM NEVER USEING AN OPEN ELEMENT AIR INTAKE SYSTEM AGAIN!!!! I dont believe how much better the throttle response is and...
look in my album, I have 285 70 17 mud terrains, there about an inch shorter in height compared to the 75s but you can get a good idea of how it will look, mine is stock height and no rubbing
well ill just update this. we changed the fluid on the front differential, we used lucas 80/90w gear oil and the ford additive. it dosent lock up as much now but it still locks, were gonna have another trans specialist look at it tomorrow, were thinking its in the transfer case
reason i brought up the pedals was i know one guy did a body lift and then he said his brake lights were staying on, but i also saw some kits dont work with adjustable pedals, not sure why but thats what i found out
I would take it with me, even so the island is only 4 sqaure miles i would not part with my expedition, too much time and money in it and I know you got alot of time and money in yours. even if the islands only 4 square miles you could still drive it and you prolly wont use that much gas.
agree with walnuts, but also i know its a different code but check those hoses coming from the differential feedback sensor right next to the throttle body, mine were both cracked and they came up with a p1405 right after fixing the po174, which is basically the same as a the po171 code
honestly i would not do a body lift, you have an eddie bauer edition and if you have adjustable pedals you may cause a problem with them from what i have heard. also I dont know if you are planning on getting a grille gaurd or not but ever seen how stupid it looks when the top bar runs across...
i rode in one of my friends trucks with air ride, didnt feel much different to me, but then again I dont care for air ride, my old caddy had air shocks and it gave me nothing but trouble, and just like tony i passed up some real nice expeditions because of the air ride feature, you prolly will...
i know it dosent make sense but now its if you turn left or right the truck will just come to a stop and not move, and if you try accelerating it feels like your gonna break something. in 2wd its fine, but in 4wd the front locks while turning, and the last mechanic we saw tried saying that this...
or the cheap way is spacers in rear and do a torsion bar twist up front, although if you crank the torsion bars to the max there go your ball joints and the ride quality is going to suck. my friend has a F150 with the bars maxed out, it rides horribly and he already had to replace the ball...
for one ditch the air ride and go to coils in back shocks up front, the air ride sucks cause when it gose bad its alot of money to fix, im so glad mine had coild from the factory. i would go with fabtech or rancho for a lift kit
so now on his truck when u put it in awd mode the light blinks on and off on top of the original problem. dose anyone know anything about this? we really need help no mechanic has figured it out yet and its been to 3 different shops
thanks, i already set up my old air box to work with the gotts mod made the pipe fit my fender opening better and now im just waiting for the intake to get here lol. hopefully i have it by wensday
well its done, I pulled the trigger on a new intake, i was going to get volant but with the price of their filters being over 100 bucks a piece and the fact that i just scored a true flow intake kit for 150 bucks on amazon. com i couldnt pass it up, already got the pipeing for the gotts mod and...
so i fixed the po174 code and then got a p1405 code which is differential pressure feedback hose off or plugged. checked the lines by the sensor next to the throttle body and one was cracked badly. replaced both lines and now the light is off. I was told this is a common problem on fords. has...
ok I know better then to do something stupid like this but im considering trying it just for the hell of it. i have a very small drip from my t case in the same spot yours does. was considering spraying that electrical tape in a can stuff on it to see if it stops the leak. AGAIN I know better...
thanks mike I appreciate your input, and panda yea Im definetly gonna get a dry filter but about volant being cheaper...yea I dont know where you live lol, seriously I found the true flow setup for like 160 on amazon.com, best I could find for volant is 200, the advantage of true flow is you can...
how much did it help with gas mileage? the only downside of volant is replacement filters are expensive as hell, i saw them on their website and its like $110.00 for a filter.
