Well I put a new switch in the drivers door and that didn't cure it. I then jumpered the switch in the pass front door and no change. As of now I have jumper wires in borh rear doors and still no change although the switch for the pass rear door was in pieces. I waited a good minute or more for...
I need the bottom exterior belt moulding for the rear door/drivers side for my 03 Eddie Bauer. It's black. Mine has the backcorner pece broke off. Any help would be appreciated.
I believe I saw where Hamfisted posted a seres of photos for replacing the drivers door ajar switch. Now that I have the switch I can't seem to find the thread where he posted them. Can someone please help?
TIA
Thanks but for $22 I figured I'd take a chance on the drivers door. Especially since the Expy has 117K on the clock and the drivers seat is the only one showing any wear.
Hamfisted yes the interior lights stay on when I open/close the door. The radio goes off when I open my door. I'll go ahead and order the door switch. If I'm going to go to the trouble to remove the door panel and handle I prefer to have the switch in hand. I'll be sure to post my results.
Thanks!!
Roxy1225 thanks. I'll start troubleshooting it the next several days. Just finished cutting splitting and stacking 6 chords firewood for winter. This old body needs to rest a coup!e of days. I'll post findings when I get them.
Thanks!
Stamp11127 thanks that's what I wanted to know. Yes if I don't turn off the dash light dimmer switch the puddle lights stay on. I've got to decide if I want to dig into all this or take it to the dealership.
I was an electrician in the navy 40 years ago. Electrical isn't a problem. I planned on doing that but before doing so was just curious if the door adjar situation could cause a parasitic drain on the battery.
We're experiencing a battery drain on our 03EB. Battery is 9 mos old. Since we have a door lock problem hense the message "door adjar" is it possible this is draining the battery?
I bought the sensors off ebay and they were advertised as the correct freq for my Expo. recall reading another post where someone had put their new sensors on top of the tires and the system read them as low pressure. That's why I tried it but it didn't work for me. We have a 800mi trip comming...
Bought the magnet (actually 2 of them, don't ask) tried to set the system to no avail. I also have 4 new monitors in the box so I set them on top of each of the tires and tried that to no avail. Does this indicate that I need to have Ford reset the system? I've got to have them reset the drivers...
Is it possible to replace the gear head on the motors? The tilt motors don't work on either front seat. The motor runs but it sounds like the gears on the head are stripped. If so does anyone know a source for the gear head?
Thanks everyone. I had new tires mounted today and after buying the cd shop manual I just ordered the magnet to reset them. This should resolve my tpms issue. Thanks to everyone for their great advice. Now I'll be on to my next issue in another thread later.
Actually I caught the note on the spare tire but I only have a spare rim w/o a tpms sensor. If I remember correctly on an 08 Limited I used to have the spare didn't have a tpms sensor.
That's what I needed to know. My spare wheel doesn't have a sensor on it. When I get my new tires mounted tomorrow I'll have the best used one moved to the spare and have a sensor installed on it.
THANKS DetroitDarin!!
Its been on since I bought it a month ago. It has 2 brand of tires on it. I bought 4 new continentals today for it but want to troubleshoot the tpms system em before I pay to have them mounted/balanced. I have 4 new sensors but they lack programming. I've looked at buying the ford programmer on...
