    Replaced Tag Light Bulbs

Been there, done that, a long time ago, with the tag lights (and everywhere else too), however, on my '011, it was just simple matter of 2 screws to loosen & pull out the rubber socket holder, remove the old bulbs & insert the new LED ones, and wha lah, super bright tag light 'em ups, hahahaha :D

    2WD or AWD?

Well, over the years, I have had/driven numerous vehicles of all varieties, 2WD, AWD & (TRUE) 4WD's, some sedans, some crossovers, some mid-sized SUV's/Trucks and some full-sized SUV's/Trucks..... And I can tell you without hesitation that I will ALWAYS buy 4WD's, at least until I move to the...

My son purchased these boots for me a while back as a Fathers day gift, but unfortunately they don't fit me and are way past the return date. They are BRAND NEW and have never been worn except when I tried them on. The brand name is LOOSEIN, and they are size 13 mens. Please contact me if...

Thoughts on fixing this myself? Hit a deer

Well, I had a similar damage on my '011 last year, but from a guardrail that I mis-judged how close I was to it.... Filed an insurance claim & took it to one of their preferred shops....a tidy little bill of $3700, mainly because they found some additional damage behind the bumper, of which...

    Tape

^^THIS^^ WARNING: use acetone ONLY AS AN ABSOLUTE LAST RESORT, as it is one of the most powerful and quick acting solvents there is....one unnoticed drop in the wrong place and you will have bubbled paint, a hole in a piece of trim or melted plastic/rubber which will be unrepairable.... Plus...

    Power Running Board Motor Availability

Well, as long as you're only replacing the motors, control rod & brackets, it shouldn't be too expensive...around $800-1000... But the boards themselves, well that's another story altogether... A few years ago, I got a quote from local stealership for the entire package: $3857. So I called...

    2027 Expedition - physical buttons?

Hummmm, whahdatiz ???? Yea those have been phased out of just about everything (not just vehicles) since about 2016, due to the streaming/cloud thingie, but it still sucks...

You needs some new Rubba, bubba !

Don't know anything about those particular tires, but all I know is that I am done with Gewdyars for good, as the last 2 sets I've had on 2 different vehicles did not last anywhere near as long as they were rated for, and the ones I had on my Expy turned brittle & hard after about 8-9 months...

Hauling 8 foot goods in a non-max Expedition

Yea must be, cause that person has several bags of concrete mix holding the lumber down, thinkin yea, that'll work....but still not a flag in site, so 2 whammies for them :D

Hauling 8 foot goods in a non-max Expedition

^^THIS^^ Well, up here in my neck of the woods, I constantly see people hauling stuff that sticks out beyond the vehicle without any flags at all. And they are always sitting along the side of the road......... waiting for the trooper to finish writing their ticket :)

    2027 Expedition - physical buttons?

Well, according to my sources, the 2028 models will have some minor cosmetic changes on the outside, but the inside & dash will be 100% void of any buttons, dials, or switches of any kind. Everything in the cab will be shown on a Head-up display (like fighter pilots have), and will be...

You needs some new Rubba, bubba !

Well, I did it...... I swapped out my old, hard-assed Goodyear Steadfast HT's for some new Michelin Defender LTX MS2's on my '011 EL Limited.... I had planned to do it in the fall anyways, but somewhere last week, I managed to pick up a large pair of lag screws, 1 in each of the rear tires...

Hauling 8 foot goods in a non-max Expedition

I thought about this, even though my Expy is the EL version, but I just bought a nice, matte-black, non-slip, 18" wide step extension that fits into the trailer hitch too... Works great as a tie down spot for the rear hatch, as well as providing an extended place to step up on if/when I want to...

Daughter's '15 going into limp mode, but is ok after re-starting (for awhile).

I don't know about the Expy's, but on some of my other vehicles (09 Impala & 011 Acadia) the limp mode was engaging due to bad ABS sensors & wheel bearings.... Replacing the bad parts resolved the issue for good....

    Do cross bars reduce MPG?

Well, my good ole '011 with the 5.4L Beast engine, 2 cross bars, a bug deflector, side vent covers, Michelin 275/55/20 Defender MS/2 LTX's @36psi averages 15.5-16.8 mpg on the highway@a near constant 65-70mph 5 days/week with 91 fuel..... And it's 16 years old, with mostly all original parts...

In the market for 2020-2022 and I have a question...

Yep, I agree with this, as driving in full 4WD, in the snow or otherwise, requires some practice, but after you get the hang of it, it's fairly easy. Fortunately for me, I grew up in northern WV, where we had to drive in heavy, packed snow & ice more often than not (early Aug-late May) and have...

Interesting 10R80 Article - Ford vs GM

In the market for 2020-2022 and I have a question...

Well, as a proud owner of several "TRUE" 4WD vehicles, both past & present, and some with that "AWD" thing...I am of the opinion that for folks like us (I live in PA also) that have to endure the winter storms, snow, sleet, hail, rain etc, a "TRUE" 4WD is the only way to go.... And from my...

    Getting ready to replace pads

Perhaps, but consider the ole "they don't make 'em like they used to" thing.... I don't know what was on it previously or how old they were, since I had not changed them since I bought it in 2021 @45K, but I just had pads (& rotors) put on my '011 (also at 100k now) and I told the shop to use...

What Does Everyone Think About This

Yea, and that's where they get you.....they know they can make way more money from selling your data that the little bit of money will they lose on those "significant discounts"... Funny that this was brought up now, since just earlier today, I was shopping for new insurance, and guess what...

Looking to purchase 2016 or 2017 4wd-questions on octane, turbos etc

    1. PRAY 2. PRAY some mo.... hahahaha.... but the late 3rd Gen/early 4th Gen with turbos had a fair amount of issues, but I don't recall if the gas octane had that much to do with them, so much as the fact that Ford made some design mistakes during that period of changing over from the older...
