    2 weeks ago I installed 2 electric fans in front of the condenser (and P/S cooler and aux trans cooler). My idle AC has greatly improved at the cost of a bit more noise (but only if you are standing near the front of the car).

    Why not? It's "safer" than running in 2H, if an emergency situation was to come up. I ran in 2H for several months to evaluate the impact it has on gas mileage and it was unnoticeable. The Ford manual says that 4A can be run in dry weather and on pavement.

    Small Y-pipe coolant leak

    My tee fitting broke last year and I replaced it with a tee and 3 hose clamps. The OEM part has molded hose clamps, but they are easy to cut off. Once the plastic bands are cut, the whole thing comes apart easily. It was probably a 30 minute fix, start to finish.

    Send out an oil sample to Blackstone Labs. Get the TBN (an extra charge). This will give you an idea on the amount of time left on the oil. With modern synthetics, I wouldn't be surprised if they lasted 12 to 24 months or more.
