    Is my issue fuel pump or wiring?

    It does sound more like an intermittent short circuit than a bad fuel pump. I would be tracing the wiring from the pump back to the fuse and see if the wiring has rubbed against the chassis anywhere causing a short circuit to occur occasionally. Intermittent faults are the hardest to find.

    The sensors were aftermarket sensors that mounted on the tire valve stem, not the original units that mounted to the wheel rim on a metal band. As you stated I suspect/hope one is just going bad, so will replace all 4 along with new tires later this year. Thanks for the help. Gary

    The new tyres were the exact same size as the old tyres, just not worn out!! I noticed the drop in MPG before the new tyres were fitted, so I still think the car is probably running richer than before, so just want to try and find out why.

    My 08 expedition has 250k miles and still runs perfectly, doesn’t burn any oil and apart from the normal consumables (oil, filter, tires, etc) the only thing it has needed is a new radiator as the old one started to leak.. it has been a fantastic vehicle, I bought it new in 08.
