Winter rim changeout done today. Whipped the springs on whilst the wheels were off. Easier than I was expecting. Driver side was a little trickier as a right handed person.

2025 Navi seriously starting at $102K?

I wouldn't put Cadillac on any kind of a pedestal. We had an Escalade a few years ago and it was absolute dogshit. Bits of trim loose and falling off, creaks and rattles everywhere. As for Range Rover - my cousin bought a new one a couple of years ago. In the first year he owned it, it spent...

    passenger airbag

This is correct. Whilst some Ford models allow disabling the passenger airbags, the Expedition is equipped with sensors and it will determine itself if the passenger seat is occupied...

    Equipment Delete

I've been meaning to look under there to see if I can 3d print a part to focus the detection beam. Right now it's pretty wide, so when the expy is parked in the garage and there's a puddle from melted snow, the beam will reflect off the water and trigger as I walk behind it. Also, I wish...

    Extend Rear/Mirror Defrost Timeout

5 minutes up here in the frozen north is a joke. It's enough to thaw the rear window, but then it freezes up again almost instantly. I need it on all the time. And even when it isn't snowy, the other issue is in winter when entering my office underground parking lot. The side mirrors...

    Extend Rear/Mirror Defrost Timeout

All I can find is F150 owners wanting to disable the rear defrost on remote start. I wonder if it's not programmable, and is controlled by a physical relay timer.

Interior Lights Won't Turn On When Door is Opened - 2021 Expedition Platinum

In the time it took you to type this out you could have looked it up in the manual.

    Extend Rear/Mirror Defrost Timeout

I've asked this in the Gen 4 forum, but didn't realize there was a dedicated Forscan forum here... so here goes. Has anyone on their travels around the Forscan space found a way, or spotted a setting somewhere, to extend the timeout cycle for the rear window defrost?

Wiper Position After Recall - Heated Wiper Park

There are still splined teeth all the way around. It’s just that the original wiper arms (before the recall) the factory had removed the key lugs. When I looked at the new arms (after the recall) all I noticed was the keys and thought “oh - that’s a totally different design” and put them back on.

remote start - works on ford pass but keyfob doesn't

When the keyfob receives an acknowledgement message back from the Expedition that it remote started, the keyfob will flash green. Not red. For example, when I am too far away from our Expeiditon and try to remote start from the keyfob it flashes red 2 or 3 times.

Wiper Position After Recall - Heated Wiper Park

Ok - so I'm an idiot... the part I was seeing is an alignment key. It locks the arms to a preset factory position. If the arm needs to be adjusted outside of that default position, the key is to be removed. Just did that and now the arms are sitting right on the wiper heating elements! Maybe...

Wiper Position After Recall - Heated Wiper Park

The original gen 4 wiper arms (and F150, F250, and F350) had a splined socket, so you could do as you did - pop off, rotate a little, put it back on. The recall however was because in heavy snow, the arms pushing on the accumulated snow would get stuck then the motor would strip the splines...

Wiper Position After Recall - Heated Wiper Park

Resurrecting this one from the dead. Winter is coming and this is going to be a problem again. I've been wondering if maybe bending the wiper arms in a vice/brake so they angle a few degrees further down would work. Would this result in the powder coat finish on the arm cracking off at the bend?

    Rear Defrost Timeout & Forscan

Does anyone know if there's a setting in Forscan to change how long the rear defrost (which also operates the heated wiper park, and the heated mirrors) operates for? The default seems to be 10 minutes or so. During the depths of winter here I am constantly switching it back on again. Ideally...

    Turbo wastegate questions

Good points. I think I'll still do it when I have the wheels off for the winter tire/rim change in a week or two. Did you put the springs on yours? And if so, which of the two spring parts did you use?

    Turbo wastegate questions

In doing some more research, a number of F150 owners with the 3.5 Eco who did this reported some loss of power/more lag when accelerating, and that going away when they took the springs off. Did you notice that too? There's 2 or 3 different springs being recommended. Mainly the 543183 and...

why are there no real replacement Towing mirror's 4th gen ?

I regularly tow our 33ft TT and have no problems with visibility. I installed a rear camera on the RV (prewired for it from factory) and have a large display screen in the dash cubby so I can see behind. It also means I can back into any spot first time, no adjustments, retries, or getting out...

    Dash Elec Sys Short

No offence, but seeing how dirty that whole thing is, what are the chances that someone spilled a Big Gulp in there at some point? ;) On a more serious note, you can purchase the shop manual online, and take that whole section off to check the connectors are seated correctly. The top dash...

Phone slipping off wireless charging pad

This. Lots of people blame the charging pad for the frequent charge disconnects, but it's partially the newer iPhone lenses sticking out further, and then the case has an even bigger lip to protect the lens. Case off, charges fine.

    Warped Rotors & FMPP

Just a reminder that if you have the FMPP (Ford Maintenance Protection Plan) it covers brake pads and rotors. Our 2020 was in for regular service under the FMPP, and I mentioned that the brakes were pulsing, and that the rotors may be warped. I didn't mention it but it's possibly from towing...

2018 expedition headlight assembly ballast replacement

Different jurisdictions have different rules. For example, in Canada, DRLs are mandatory to be on. In the US, I don't think they are. Ford does this using software. All this is to say, you can change the DRL behaviour using Forscan.
