That's not how it works. They have a prescribed list of things from Ford they have to try in listed order to satisfy the warranty requirements, otherwise Ford will not reimburse them for their time or parts used.
Here's a video from Ford showing an electric F150 towing 1,000,000 lbs (10 double decker rail freight cars). Sounds incredible right? Well, it's only partially incredible, and partially a trick.
The hardest part of that pull was getting the load moving from a dead stop. Once it was rolling...
The part number is JL1Z-6A949-A (for 18-20... can't see it being different on the 21). Good luck finding it in stock though - there's a reason Ford isn't putting them on at the moment.
As we say in England... it's the Belt and Braces approach. (I think in the US you call braces suspenders? Those fabric straps that go over your shoulders and hold your pants up).
What's better than sorting the trailer out? Sorting the trailer out and using sway prevention technology too. No...
Why? The Max has a lower cargo and towing capacity than the Standard...
Our trailer loaded is 7300lb, 32ft. Towing with a standard Platinum, with a Blue Ox Sway Pro weight distributing hitch, and it tows effortlessly.
Whilst there is a non-zero chance they put the wrong engine in, it’s ridiculously unlikely. Modern automated production line processes simply don’t allow this to happen “by accident”. Which leaves intentional. Which begs the question why? And how? And to what end?
Call off Scooby Do and the...
I regret buying the Weathertech one now, and the floor liners inside. However, with all the snow etc we get here, the Ford rear cargo mat doesn't contain the water and mud as well, so keeping the rear Weathertech one on top of the Ford one for winter. It collect water much better.
Changing gear slightly - what is the Expy Platinum supposed to have on the engine? I don't think ours has anything - just the bare valve covers. Is there supposed to be a cover? Should I demand one from the dealer?
2020 Expy Platinum, ordered July 2020, delivered October 2020.
Here's a link to the trailer tpms and camera kit. Looking at the included parts, and using simple logic, you would need to mount a receiver near the trailer axles to pick up the tpms signals. TPMS signals are weak. And that receiver would need to be wired back into your Expys CANBus.
I think...
I have one, and it's 100% an electronic differential locker. And the manual page I linked in my other post plainly states it's an electronic locker.
Someone is confused.
Fairly standard stuff - happens up here all the time to all our vehicles. My Audi catches snow in the underbelly aerodynamic/protective panels all the time in the deeper stuff. Not much you can do about it really.
Luckily, there's no salt on top of the deeper snow, so less of a corrosion...
There are some clear spray on grit grip products out there. I’d be tempted to mask the running board off and do that. I can’t imagine the grip tape adhesive is going to hold up to power washing, road salt etc
Yup. One of the reasons I opted for a second set of rims in a -2” size was because all the tires I wanted weren’t available in that size. Even in the 20” it was difficult.
