    Garage Opener Weak Signal

That's just it - I too figured I would check on the transmitter, but I spent the whole morning looking through the parts catalogue, wiring schematics, shop manual etc, and I can't find any mention of a module in the front that's the transmitter. Just the Homelink button module in the sun visor...

    2020 Transmission Issues.

Our 2020 started rough shifting between 3 and 5, sometimes up around 7, and would sometimes lurch out of P into R (and sometimes D). Called the service manager at the dealership. He said to bring it in. They had it there for the day whilst the tech looked at that, a coolant issue, and a...

    Garage Opener Weak Signal

According to this post on a Raptor forum, they found wiping the opener and reprogramming it fixed the problem. Will try and report back.

    Garage Opener Weak Signal

Garage is all fluorescent tube. But a long time ago I switched the incandescent bulb out in opener itself for an LED bulb. But that was 2 years ago, long before this problem worsened. And again, the other vehicle can open it from a long way away.

    Garage Opener Weak Signal

I'm not sure what happened in the last few months, but the garage opener in our Expedition has become really weak. The front of the Expedition needs to be within a few feet of the garage door to open it. Our other car can open it from halfway down the alley. It was always much weaker than our...

    Steering Issue

There's a number of things this could be such as misaligned suspension, tire pull etc. For tire pull, you can switch wheels around and see if persists. If you have unidirectional tires, then swap the rears to the fronts. If you have non-directional tires, swap the fronts over. Then test...

    60,000km Update - Trans & Water Pump

In all fairness my dealership are pretty decent. I'm certain the tech would have checked this before recommending the water pump replacement.

    60,000km Update - Trans & Water Pump

It is what it is I guess. As you say it’s all newer vehicles. It’s getting where extended warranty is a must buy option on a new vehicle.

Crinkling “chrome” trim bezel on center console

Did you get a part number by any chance?

Yeah… this thread took a weird turn. This is a forum for discussing cars.

    2019 limited A/C not COLD

Last spring I noticed our AC was blowing warm after the winter where it wasn't used at all. Took it to the dealership. The schrader valve was defective. They ran the part number through the warranty computer. Not covered. Basically the only part on the whole system not covered. They wanted...

    Transmission issues. Again.

New parts are not necessarily the same thing as redesigned parts. The service advisor for mine told me initially it wouldn't be the redesigned parts - just new replacement parts. A quick chat with the service manager and he clarified they are now using only the redesigned parts, but they're on...

    Center Stowage Compartment Downgrade

The US Our 2020 has the USB-C (and a USB-A) port there, and the C charges my iPhone 15 Max really fast. The wireless charger is a joke though. It's a 2-fold problem: The power output is low The protruding camera lens cutout on the back of modern phones means the phone doesn't sit flat on the...

    Transmission issues. Again.

Hard shift/lurch from P (especially to R) and clunky shifts 3<>5 and also around 7 are all symptoms of the poorly designed CDF drum. The only fix is to have the transmission rebuilt with the new redesigned parts. Mine was doing the same as yours. Dealership agreed on the rebuild. They've...

    60,000km Update - Trans & Water Pump

Got a recall notice about the PCM reprogramming. Whilst it was in I had them check the transmission and why the coolant needs topping off before each 5 month service. For the transmission, it was being clunky between 3 and 5, and sometimes up around 7. It would also sometimes lurch from P to...

Crinkling “chrome” trim bezel on center console

As far as I know, no. You could check a scrapyard, but even then, I'm not sure that bezel can be separated from the rest of the console non-destructively. My plan for when it rips completely is to see if someone can wrap all the bezels with vinyl or something.

About to change battery for first time

The BMS tracks all kinds of parameters and behaviours for your old battery. How quickly it charges. How rapidly it discharges. How much charge it will hold. Using all this, it determines a battery management strategy to extend the life of for your battery, which changes and evolves over time...

    Build sheet / HD tow

Audis have this too. Even modern ones. It’s fantastic for determining exactly what options are on the vehicle. It’s usually on a large sticker under the hood or in the trunk somewhere.

    Build sheet / HD tow

Weird. I’ll run mine later and see what it says. I’m getting those off a third party website, so they’re not official Ford monroney window stickers. Maybe it’s that, but they should be accurate.

    2022 Horn Only Partially Works

When it's super cold here (like, -20c or below) my horn sounds like someone strangling a goat. It's still under extended warranty, but I'm never near the dealership when it happens. I wonder if it's a covered item.

    Running boards in the summer

This one. It was tricky to find the FluidFilm in stock here, but I followed it to the letter and it solved all my running board issues. I was planning to do it again before this winter, but it hasn't needed it.

    Running boards in the summer

I was having problems in the winter, with salt/sand in such prolific use here on the roads. I followed that YoutUbe video to the letter, and it's been 2 winters and 1 summer without so much as a whimper out of the running boards. I also added mudflaps, primarily to prevent the buildups of...

Roof rack/ trim pieces blew off

Welcome! Honestly, the more I think about it, the less this whole thing makes sense. The wind force on your stationary vehicle was 82mph. I regularly drive faster than that on the highway... into headwinds, so cumulatively well over 100mph . Can't figure out how 82mph gusts ripped half your...
