What Have You Done to Your 4th Gen This Week?

Just ordered extended studs and .5 inch spacers to replace my .25 wheel spacers all around. My setup does not rub to the best of my knowledge--but it is awful close. Punching the poke out another .25 will barely be noticable but the increased track may have a few stability benefits that I hope...

Kingdom Overlanding: Trans KaBoom and new Lockers & Gears...

Kingdom Overlanding: Trans KaBoom and new Lockers & Gears. I was just pondering if gear swaps were a thing, and literally this popped up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKTUp-GrYKI

Rough Country 18+ 3" lift - a Real Lift kit!!

Any more news on this? Is RC considered not a very well made system? Some of those welds on the RC rear control arms look rough (in the picture) and I'd prefer the rear struts lifted as well as oppsed to a spacer. A glance at the ICON system and t hey are still $6K and the front control arms...

    RCI Skid Plates

Dang it. So no one has a fully "turn-key" one for the Expy? It seems all of these needs some extra drilling, tapping and bending...?

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

Coop, looking good! Feel free to poke around my thread(s) for more answers on decent yet lightweight tires, how to make sure they don't rub, and spacers. And not to be a wallflower, but Bilstein does say not to use there shocks in combination with spacers. I don't know why, but they do, so...

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

Well the rear end is not a "proper" shock coil over lift and they won't sell the control arms seperately. Does anyone know the quality of these components? Has anyone taken the plunge yet?

Rough Country 18+ 3" lift - a Real Lift kit!!

This is intersting. I am Bilsteined up front for 2 inches and 2 inches rear, and still have the aerodynamic/towing/loading nose down cant from the factory... I have no explanation why that occured with the F150's maxed out up front, but it worked out better than I thought. I too would love...

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

Going to do some more research into the Rough Country. Bilsteins may be up for sale, soon ;-)

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

Anyone here have info on that 3 inch lift from Rough Country? How much suspension travel is left on the bottom end with that?

Let's See Those Lifted / Big Tire Gen 4s!!

G-day gents. Lovelt to see the 3 inch lift that fixes rear tire pull forward. Anyword on extended wheel studs? Part numbers? I have .25 spacers and want to increase my rear ones to .5 and would feel better with extended studs.

    Removing front air dam?

Pete, I know it may be tough but more pics of the underside would be great, and what they had to do different from the F150 to the Ex?

    Steel Bumper for 2019

II wish it would look more factory in it's tapers and curious as to what it weighs? Other features to look into would be can it place an inflated 35 inch tire in the well, or support tire bumper mounts, etc.

A Little Pushing. A Little Screwing. A little Pinning...

Thanks Foz! It matches Ford's factory "not so perfect in the first place" look perfectly! :superhack:

A Little Pushing. A Little Screwing. A little Pinning...

IT is literally the cost of a few zip ties to do an oil change. The ZTs may not even be necessary, but gives me more of a "feel good" feeling since I am slightly altering the aeros. Overall, this portion completes the "box set" (lift, tires, clean up nose) of how to make your FX4 look like it...

Team Zambo, please ask the question in the Gen4 section as we'd like to keep this more picture oriented. But IM sent--

    Transmission overheating after service

These trucks are designed to run 100mph all day long in 100+ degree heat, loaded, up and down and all around (Obviously, not towing). Depending on heat, drag, boost and RPMs, your trans-temp will see a bump of a few degrees. The result of the "jump-up" may be a radiator flap issue which seals...

    Cargo Capacity (Roof)

Roof loads are a funny thing. In considering a massive Thule type box in the future, I added an extra factory Ford bar to displace and better secure whatever that box/future held. Still, for the hardtop Expy I would question 200 pounds on the roof being thrown side to side "warbling" during...

Airing down tires on 22" wheels for off-roading

He will be fine -10/-15 psi if he is slow rolling on dirt. And I mean less than 10mph. If he is bombing around like he has RAPTOR spray painted on his side, has 2,000 pounds in the truck, etc. different story. Looking forward to the AAR and pics.

Airing down tires on 22" wheels for off-roading

The fact that it "low profile" will make it less likely to pop the bead due to less leverage when on MILD terrain. IDK what your door pressure says, but any tire on mild/moderate terrain should have no problems -10 pounds. How many times have you looked at a low profile tire 10+ pounds low in...

    Clear wrap behind tires?

I've done it on another car, but still added small "bikini" mudflaps to reduce the bigger stuff hitting at closer range with more energy. Get a good wrapper, they can do the whole car if you wish. Not cheap and I'd spend the money on the nosecone, roof, and side mirrors first. YMMV

No. Probably sits lower with the few extra bits of tinfoil underarmor lol.

What Have You Done to Your 4th Gen This Week?

Good report on the Suomos but how does it ride unladen? IT has to feel a little more bouncy w/o a load, right?

BILSTEIN 5100 F150/Expy Shocks, Tires, Spacers (LONG)

Not much other than I read / saw / heard somewhere that it could bend / break it. For a big truck there are some snowflake parts apparently.
