When you lift an Expy either through 5100s or coil spacers, how much do the wheels tuck inward?
I have seen where they get close to the forward part of the rear fender, and generally I am not concerned since I am going with a 1.5 inch lift all around--but was curious about the "tuck" and if...
Anyone "Delete" their Electronic 3rd Row Seat? I have no need for it, and would prefer the storage space/weight reduction. I am sure someone has done it with some success, and found a suitable use for it.
First thing I did on every SUV I ever owned, was remove the rear seat (when you could)...
Thx Lok, and yes ExplorerTom, and while this forum is a good source, I feel there are only perhaps a portion with the "street knowledge" to answer some of the more technical questions. IT iwll probably drive me off to the F150 Forums where they tend to have more modding and 4-wheelk experience...
Well, I actually want all three. I am in an area with heavy flooding, and while I don't plan on it, I don't want to limit the life of my drivetrain due to water ingestion.
As you may know, when you submerge these items a wise man gets all fluids changed quickly thereafter. By raising the...
Hi, I am looking for any info I can on adding aftermarket front/rear diff and a trans breathers. I have a Gen 4 but figure they would be very similar to the Gen 3s as far as style and locations.
Thank you!
Thank you for this info. Posted it days ago looking for a deal on the Expy 5100s and got nothing. I am told/read on the Gen 4 models the fronts are good for 1.6 inches and rears 1.4 which is exactly the minor lift I am looking for...
Lot of info here, I apologize if mentioned prior:
I have a 2020 FX4 + HD Tow Package. My GVWR is 7,450 LBs and max occupants and cargo is 1,746 LBs. I guess this translates to my truck weighing 5,704 LBs which is A LOT heavier than I thought it would be as those are the only two options...
I am probably about 31% +/-, and totally fine with it.
Living in Texas (104 degrees today) and South Florida (90+ super high humidity) and as an outdoor vehicle (despite the best tints and being silver) it takes quite awhile to cool down.
I almost always leave it on as I run quick in/out...
A CC reduces carbon in the intake track/valves.
It has maybe less to do with engine longevity to 200K, but power, efficiency, etc. on the way there. It may be the smallest thing you can do for your engine's health, and far less important than correctly timed oil changes. But I already...
Actually Foz, that is just shy of an ounce, but if we give it an even ounce at least 896,000 miles for a gallon :)
And FWIW, my driving style is leisurely, with only occasional full throttle bursts to let things stretch a bit. 99% of the time I drive in Eco-Mode.
"We have the 2020 Expy Plat 4x4 w/ Tow Pkg and are kicking ourselves for not getting the extended wheelbase MAX. 5 more gallons of fuel and a foot longer wheelbase....which might make a difference with 32ft 6400lb trailer."
Not from personal experience mind you, but from what I know--that...
Thank you for the pics! I wish more people would post more pics (it is very easy) as it says 1,000 words! Personally I do not like tire poke, and since my truck comes with 32s I planned on adding 33s of similar width, on the same rim and was concerned how far that minor of a lift will pull it...

SFG, the gains are below the curve as well with the right tuner as they adjust the timing and max boost. Don't know if they can crack torque limiting stuff though.
Also, CAI can add power, depending on vehicle and the whole purpose of the MAF is to read the extra air and fuel for it. Problem...
TTBOMK, the catch can has nothing to do with the oil inside your engine, since it ingests the oil caught above back into the intake valves & combustion chamber, reducing octane and causing carbon buildup, etc. Previous 3.5s had it worse, but the new gens have fixed the carbon buildup by...
For Those Who Don't Think a Catch Can is Needed...? YMMV...
I changed my 2020 FX4 engine oil at 1K and added a catch-can.
The below is what it looks like/how much from the catch-can after 7K miles (2K towing a small 2,000 pound trailer). That is a standard size shot glass--and it stank like...
