    Yes there are. Bilstein 5100 are a good aftermarket shock. This is, I believe what most people go with. I can’t believe the newer ones have this issue. With how few miles you have, I’d take it to the dealer, though.

    I jacked up the hub (to put weight on it, off the axle stand on the frame), tightened to 250 ft.lbs (there’s no difference between ft.lbs and lb.ft) then used a breaker bar to tighten some more.

    I’ve turned off the rain sensing for the wipers. Since rainx tends to clear the windshield at a moderate speed, there’s no need for wipers, and I can guess that the sensing mechanism gets confused. It’s pretty easy to turn the wipers on or give it a quick wipe with the button, though.

    I believe the issue that occurs with the OEM ‘stainless’ covers is that water (and salt) gets under them, sits, and corrodes the nut. This rust, causing the bulging cover, means it’s very difficult to remove the nut. As such, covers may just exacerbate the issue?
