Sold the 2003 EB…for an upgrade

I’ve had a lot of fun for the last 2 years working on / rehabilitating my 2003 EB. Dropped a new engine in it, new brakes, bearings, shocks, U-joints, E-fans, tires, head-unit w/back-up cam, vac hoses, rack-and-pinion, CAI, end-links, upholstery, cats (x2) and cat-back, paintless dent repair...

How To: Center Console Refrigerator Install

I just picked up a 2019 Navigator. My wife and I were on a trip to FL, and our rental was a new Wagoneer that had a fridge in the console. She really liked that! So yeah, for $100 this looks like a great upgrade. Does anyone know if the console of the Navigator is the same as the Expedition? I...

A/C Compressor will not engage unless jumped at the relay

Not sure on the Navi, but have / can you run the DATC test, checking for DTCs? They readout directly from the HVAC unit telling you what DATC codes you may have.

Looking for Sun Load Temp Sensor

Following up, I did replace the blend door actuators in the rear last year. If i recall correctly, there were 2. No clicking anymore. I’m presuming the rear HVAC simply draws the same hot coolant than the front, but not sure if there are other failure point(s) in the rear system.

    Proud of my ‘03 EB

STL has been hit by a snow and ice storm, but I still gotta go to work. Took the EB to work on Sunday, and she performed flawlessly. The AWD was key to the 60 mile commute…traffic was light cause no one else dared brave the conditions. I simply stayed at a hotel near work the first night...

Broken and missing hoses under the hood, need help identifying what they are.

If those hoses blew off, there’s a chance your cat(s) are smoked. Take it to a good exhaust shop, and they can perform a back-pressure test to ensure / verify good flow through your cats. If they’re clogged, you can blow those lines. News cat(s) are the solution.

Looking for Sun Load Temp Sensor

Honestly I haven’t got back there to see how the rear heat, or even AC in the summer, is doing. That may be a whole other ball of wax.

Looking for Sun Load Temp Sensor

Here’s an update. Found a sun load sensor from the junk yard, and it resolved the DATC code. So now, according to the DATC, all is well. Still doesn’t blow my socks off with the heat, but it’s more than nothing.

2023 Rental XLT's Popping Up Everywhere - A Good Buy?

People who rent cars are often traveling…with bags. I rent cars / SUVs every week. A scuffed up cargo area is the nature of the beast in a rental.

Looking for Sun Load Temp Sensor

Team: Been troubleshooting the DATC system in my '03 EB, and I think I've got it narrowed down to one last item that could possibly make my system finally operate correctly. First: THE PROBLEM: It seems in the summer, my AC doesn't blow as cold as it should, and in the winter the heat...

Location of main HVAC vacuum line in cabin? 2003 Expy XLT with manual AC controls

Roger appreciate the follow up. Now I just have to find a place that has one. Already ordered from Ford Parts Giant, only to get the email “sorry, we don’t actually have it.”

Location of main HVAC vacuum line in cabin? 2003 Expy XLT with manual AC controls

Anybody know where I can get a replacement solenoid? The usual sites are all saying no dice. I understand the PN I’m searching for is 2L1Z-19D611-AA, according to the dealership. This is for my 2003 Eddie Bauer with the DATC. Entering that PN into ford.oempartsonline.com tells me it’s for the...

    Thoughts on performance chips?

I second the custom tuning. I had a Jet chip about 30+ years ago, and I can’t say there was a discernible impact. I’ve since custom-tuned about a half-dozen of my vehicles, and it’s a night and day difference. However, some tuners have vanished in recent history (H&S comes to mind) with the...

Not bad, considering she’s old enough to drink

Thanks for the response. Sorry - PDR is paintless dent repair. That takes out all the door dings and such. However, somehow when I got the truck last year, there were 2 “softball” size dents, one in each of the front fenders. No idea how something like that would happen, let alone to both sides...

2024 Platinum Purchase - One with ELSD / One without (Which One to Buy)

I’ve had ELSD in my 2014 250 Super Duty, owned since new. Towed everything under the sun, to including 35’ boats at the ramp, 5th wheels, etc. With the traction control, never once felt the need to “lock out” the rear end.
