I'm going to be honest and say this is one of the best looking setups I've seen to keep things pretty simple. You probably could market this if you were willing to spend the time on making them.
The grilles that you did to the transition panels to the backrests, was that just for aesthetics?
Check out what these guys did. Video on the subwoofer discussion/install starts ~4:58. They test out the volume of the box and comment that they didn't go custom due to the rigidity and usability of the OEM box. They did make a speaker ring to pattern the sub dimensions in order to router out...
Just did this mod to gain real estate back from the front stowage compartment in the center console. My previous XLT did not have the wireless charging option and I used to throw a lot of smaller odds 'n ends in there vs the armrest storage bin. I thought I would like my new setup with the...
Good to know and feedback. The bracketry is pretty tight on there and doesn't seem like anything has come loose so far.
Without the engine cover on, it's very easy to access. Like I said, it removes as fast as you can twist the blue clamps and lift off the bracket. The only extra time and...
Just wanted to post a follow-up on how this was doing.
I did my spark plugs the other day and while I was hovering over the engine I decided to check out the can. Took about 10 seconds to undo the quick fittings and take out, so easy enough. After opening up the lid I found that there was a...
Just did my plugs and boots Tuesday.
NGK Ruthenium’s that I got off Rock Auto. #90495. $8.70/ea
Motorcraft Ignition Coil Boot - WR6151. $7.36/ea
They were all pre gapped and even across the board - 0.032". I had used these in my previous Expedition and ran great & smooth. I’m only at 25k...
I'm sure there was a discussion within the Ford warranty/engineering group. If the vehicle fails to meet safety requirements, this defect constitutes a safety hazard. So I'm sure they're concerned (whether you believe that or not) that the welding issue of this body mount doesn't stop there...
@Fastcar / @LanceExp2025 - do not disagree with you at all with the "green" part. It is something they all like to say and tout to make everyone feel better while supporting the bottom line.
But the reasons I listed are usually the whys.
I can offer my experience of having worked for a couple of OEM auto manufacturers in my life and this is an explanation I can offer for situations I see in this thread.
1) OEMs are looking to minimize print unless necessary ("greener", cheaper, etc). If they can get an OM loaded on the CID...
No. This eLSD is electronically applied clutches, no friction based. So in this case the spec is not as important, certainly not a 85 vs. 90 difference, and friction modifier is not required either as with an "analog" clutch pack.
More accessible on the market. The 5 points is negligible. They're running thinner for EPA ratings. I went with 75W-90 on my previous Expy when I changed out my drivetrain fluid.
Internet FTW!
To follow-up on this, I spent the rest of the day trying to Google and research what may have gone wrong and what options I may have had. Got to love the F-150 guys as they seem to have gone through most of the issues that can come up with first and have an answer or fix. I...
Wow, talk about crazy coincidence. Was driving down the road on a small trip and noticed that my speakers started failing. It started with the LHS channels not working. Then I noticed that my tuner was acting up when I was trying to change SXM stations to see if it was the broadcast. Very...
I'm with you guys. Both times when shopping for my trucks this was a must. I have three kids and they can easily manage in the second row when the third must be down. We've also have made use of eight passengers several times with family and friends going out. Plus when running big item...
I don’t have any of that. Like in my post, I’m looking to buy to ADD an emblem with the camera feature to further use it as an additional camera.
Just really looking to know if the wiring can be repurposed to add to an aftermarket setup.
Sounds like everything is working for you other than the sound amp (ACM). If you have an unidentified draw and this is not working, there could be a short to ground issue with it that is correlated.
Hopefully you figured this out by now and you're not still throwing money at this. Assuming that your 3rd gen has three basic components to the radio, they would be the ACM, APIM, and screen. All are independent of each of other of what they do but integrate for the final function (like a...
OEM front Ford Emblem...
Looking to make a seamless integration and see if anyone has been able to, or if it's possible to retrofit a factory front camera to integrate with a dash cam setup. Been looking at auto recyclers that have these available, but I'd like to be somewhat sure before I...
Went to put in a Kicker Key 200.4 over the weekend to power my door speakers. I used a PAC Audio harness and wired them up with DT connectors to make them quick plug and play from the harness to the amp. After firing everything up I found that I could not raise the gain on the amp any higher...
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. The pictures they have for the 23 Expy look like stock photos, and my mirror setup has the wire going through the stem of the mirror mount, not external like most of their pics.
Right or wrong, I'm seriously considering the Ironman full steel bumper for the F-150 that Lumberjack and another member have put on their trucks. The beam behind the Expy bumper cover does not extend much past the frame rails. The F-150 has bumper "horns" that are fitted behind the steel...
No I don't. Assuming OP has a MY23+ based on his avatar and those would have it. Only feature that the MY18+ have are the keyless entry via the touch activated door handles.
I know the price is steep, but I feel like I've seen others comment on rebuilds costing them close to this or maybe even more. Only additional cost to this would be the R&R of the original transmission.
