Sway bars keep a vehicle from leaning in curves. They have virtually no effect on controlling damping that causes ”bouncing”.
Negative effects on a vehicle with an independent suspension is that the bigger you go on the sway bar the less “independent“ the suspension is. The result is that...
I dint know how much the engine puts out with one or the other, but I do not see that as alluding that it puts out less power with regular fuel. Ford recommends regular and they rate a platinum at 400 Hp. To me that says it puts out rated power with recommended fuel.
What they say is that the...
2023 Platinum rear drive HD Tow package. We live in a fairly small town. We hit some traffic lights in town commuting but nothing like big cities (Spent much of my life in Houston and Chicago).
We get 17.5-18.0 in town and 22-23 on freeway. Our freeway driving does involve hills and we run...
I don’t know what the manufacturer says about lubing them, but there is a good chance grease will cause them to collect a lot of dirt and grime under a Vehicle. A better option seems to be to clean them good and spray a dry lube on them.
I saw over 28 on the “Enchanted Circle“ for about 50 miles. That is a loop from Taos, Angel Fire, Red River. I was running about 60. On the entire tday which included from and back to Santa Fe was over 25. Needless to say conditions were perfect.
I actually remembered that after i posted. We just did a 2,000 mile trip pulling a travel trailer. Seeing transmission temp seemed like a good thing pulling a trailer in hills. You can imagine how often we stopped for gas. It reverted back every time. And turbo boost is just a toy.
I’m not sure as I don’t have it in front of me. But I think it is something like 5.112. I’ll try to check. Mine is a 2023 I bought this June.
It would really help if people would state what year they have. It seems that those of us with 2023 now have an inferior version than those with...
Here is an example of just the things I hate about it that are obviously glitches and not just things that are hard to operate.
Got out of it with auto temp control set to X temperature and both seats ventilation on two dots. An hour later get back in and the A/C system has shut itself off...
Years ago I was into modding vehicles, and I upgraded some 1/2 ton trucks for pulling boats. But with todays technology and manufacturers offering very comprehensive HD To packages I prefer to stay stock with components designed by people a lot smarter than me to work together.
We recently...
I know this does not answer your question specifically, but…. We have a 2023 Platinum with the heavy dut tow package. At the same time we bought a 33’ travel trailer with a 6800# dry weight and of course a weight equalizing hitch.
Twice we have gone for a long weekend about 40 miles from...
I told my wife the same thing. It’s like Ford has a bunch of geeks who never actually drive vehicles. You have to have a double jointed wrist to get your phone out of there.
I wanted to drive one about three months go. He said they are asking $15,000 over list for them but will come down to $7,000 over. They did not have one in stock but it really didn’t matter.
I wanted to drive a Wagoneer but there were none equipped the way I wanted within 250 miles...
Yes to the first two. No to my account. Did not know that was available - meaning the firmware. I just looked and it’s telling me I need to set up something on the vehicle. I thought I did.
I have to admit that I’m at a point in my life that I’m sick of having to set up a million accounts to...
I have been watching folks with 2022s get an update over the air for Synch 4s with updated features we don’t have on our 2023. Mine is regularly changing settings on me, losing radio presets and it just a pain in the butt to use.
So today I went to my dealer and asked the service writer if he...
I’m a huge car guy and have been for nearly 60 years. I’ve owned a lot of nice vehicles such as two Five series BMWs, two Audi A7s and four Lexus. On the sports car side seven Corvettes including an $80k Z06.
From 1988 to 2007 I owned a Suburban, four Tahoes and an Expedition. Fifteen years...
There is a saying “drag racing breaks things, road racing wears them out”. I road raced motorcycles for few years a long time ago and never did either. I drag raced a few manual transmission Corvettes and did break things!
Whatever it said in the manual mine is in compliance with. Like I said, I did not have the manual in front of me. Mine does work where you see it in the picture.
I forgot to mention above, years ago I trailered a lot and was really good at it. A close friend who also has a travel trailer and an F150 told me I had to try the back up knob. He has been helping me get it back into my storage lot Space. I tried it my second time out. Within a very few...
I have a travel trailer with propane tanks also. Consistent with the directions, I was easily able to put the stickers on. I don’t have the instructions in front of me, but I think they just need to be no closer than 4” from the ball.
if you zoom in on this picture you can just barely see it...
