Ford pays cost and allotted time for repairs according to claims processed. Dealers do not make money on warranty claims. They under the warranty policy set by Ford. Each dealer is scrutinized by dollars they pay to substantiate claims. Micro management at its best to legitimize rightful claims.
I would still check with Jasper. Not sure if their warranty is for this particular Trans unit although if it is they offer a 3 year warranty or 100k. Would seem to be a more plausible alternative if this would be the case. Being the case, waiting for a Ford Trans would seem pointless seeing all...
Ford Rep's visit the dealerships periodically. Have your name put on the list to see the Rep. This should resolve the matter. Perhaps if it is a problem with material he will buy it. If not perhaps give you an allowance to purchase new ones.
I also had a Valve cover replaced after CP's done. Prolonged the return of the vehicle but those things happen. Better recognizing a fault before being returned than having oil leaking on my garage floor and bringing it back.
Has anyone here ever checked the resting period of a Motorcraft battery on their Expedition. Mine generally shows 12.2 to 12.4 after a 10 hr period of not driving. I have trickled charged it on occasions at 10 volts for about 4 hrs and it goes up to 13 volts after charge but settles down to...
I might suggest anyone that before signing on the line to roadtest the vehicle doesnt have any vibrations. Surely they will likely solve that problem very quickly.
Here is my thought. First day home with a cold soak and hearing the noise and on the second day videoing the sound and taking it right back to the dealer GM and would have given the vehicle back to them. I believe you still might have recourse in getting this repaired. Just me thinking out loud.
I have seen a failed phaser that was taken out of a 3.5 engine. The pin was gone and the spring was doing nothing. I suspect just being worn creating failure.
I would seriously look to have the cam phasers done. MHO. My 2019 at 35k had phasers and a cam replaced. Don't know at this point in time would quiet the cam phaser rattle would try the cold start flooding to see if this would help. Requires foot on brake and gas pedal to the floor while...
I had them done at 35k. Replaced phasers along with a cam. I had no concerns with the repair procedure being inadequate. Although I purchased a Ford extended warranty good till 125k. I enjoy both aspects. Comfort and peice of mind. If it fails I'm covered for $100. I just hope I am not a 1000...
Bob makes all good points after viewing pics. Drips to me would be evident of leaking. Ford may just spray clean the area's and have you bring it back for a inspection. My opinion only.
