    Muhahahaha!

I had some dude in a Chevy Cruze, back into me, while I was pumping gas. He took off, like he just did a bank heist. The gas station said, no video footage was available. A cop showed up and blew me off. He said "well its an older truck and just some small scuffs, that will buff out".

First oil change at 1500 miles for my 2019 Expedition XLT.

Blackstone tested the oil in my 5.0l Mustang. Its was Royal Purple, Napa Platinum filter 1,400mi and in engine for a year. They said it was still nice. No fuel, in normal spec and was so nice, could of went 12 more months. New engines may have break in oil. Some manufactures recommend, not...

Bleeding brakes before changing brake pads?

Expedition have 4 piston front calipers. When you crack the bleeder, it is much easier to compress them and evenly. It puts fresh brake fluid in the caliper, where all the work and heats is. I can see why mechanics, like doing it this way. Less tools to pull out and maybe(if everything goes...

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot "Features" Thread

Just put shifter back in and problem solved.

    Whiskey Tango Foxtrot "Features" Thread

It is a feature put on because of 'knob' gear selector. There is no shifter, that can be visually seen to be in park. In my opinion, a case of old is better than new.

    Removing front air dam?

Do F150 FX4 and Raptor skid plates fit on a Expedition?

    Removing front air dam?

In Buffalo, the plows leave piles of snow at the end of the driveways. The first thing I thought was, that air dam is too low, to go through deep snow. My Expedition, can get me in and out of my driveway with no problems, in heavy snow. The 4th gens would need to be shoveled or plowed out first.

    Did I Hurt it!!

Its a tough job to quote, because of not knowing how many studs are broke. My service advisor has seen enough of these, usually expects 3 per side. The ones on the back of the engine. Mine broke with enough sticking out, the mechanic 'vise gripped' them out. He said, any that need to be...

    Did I Hurt it!!

The exhaust manifold studs break, because Ford uses cheap stuff and they rot out. The manifold warps slightly and eventually may crack. I was told they make/use a stronger replacement studs and gaskets. The engine stays in the vehicle. The plastic inner fenders are removed to swap them out. The...

    Navigator Borla Exhaust on Expedition?

Just change the muffler. My Expedition originally had a huge(30") and heavy one. I changed it to Raptor, performance muffler. Its a nice tone and not too loud. Ford uses decent stainless tailpipes. Mine is the original. The shop made/bent a small piece, to adapt the new, smaller muffler. They...

    Lincoln forums? Navi question

A different class? Doesn't compare? really? I see Escalades all over and almost never see a Navigator. Take a look around?

    Lincoln forums? Navi question

The Escalade is much better looking than the Navigator. The Nav, always has had the 'family truckster', ugly rear end. The Cadillac interior is simple, yet elegant. Ford should take some notes.

    Navigator Borla Exhaust on Expedition?

Complete waste of money. Its like the fart cans, the 'fast & furious' guys put on imports.

Wife says “...you should buy a new truck...”

No car payment for starters. If he can maintain it cheap, he is ahead. The 1st gen can last well beyond 300K.

Wife says “...you should buy a new truck...”

My 2000 XLT was $31K. A 2019 XLT, with leather is about $50K after rebates. The new Hyundai Palisade is close to $45K. The problem with the 1st Gen Expedition was, potential F150 owners, were buying them. Ford makes big profit on the pickups(40%). It also wants to claim 'the best selling pickups...

Do Gen 3’s Spy on Us??

Allstate insurance offers Drivewise. It plugs into OBD port and monitors your driving(for a discount). I tried it and it checks for speed, braking and hours of the day. All the info is transmitted to them, from a small 1"x2"x1" unit. Onstar, Sync, navigation and blackboxes all can probably do...

Wife says “...you should buy a new truck...”

2015 and up Cadillac Escalade, is very sharp. In my opinion, its the best looking of the newer, full size SUVs. 450hp V8 power, to boot. Awesome wheels and interior. The 5.0l Ford truck motor is not 'bad' as some above claim. Ford didn't run the higher compression, like the Mustang. That made it...

    Did I Hurt it!!

Timing chain rattle? Cam phaser? The overhead cam engine has 'roller followers' and lash adjusters. Using an oil additive that thickens the oil, can damage them. A leaky manifold will sound like a tick.

    Hunter Touchless Alignment Inspection System?

I was told at my dealer, this system is not accurate, it just a guide. When it comes to an alignment there are 2 things: does your car pull? are your tires wearing funny? If both NO, you don't need one. You can check your 'toe', with a string, pulled tight(an old trick). You tie a string so that...
