    Condensation dripping from crossover pipe

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know that the urethane is the primary culprit on mine. If I have it redone someday I’d likely choose heavier flake and skip the urethane clear coat. My garage door isn’t open enough for UV to affect the floor much.

    Shudder?

You may be able to find a tire shop that will buy the used tires for a reasonable price if you buy the new tires from them. This is what I did when I switched to my Michelin Defender LTX M/S when my Expy was new. I decided not to pursue anything with the dealer since I wasn't interested in a...

    Condensation dripping from crossover pipe

I'll give that a try and see if I can tighten it anymore.

    Condensation dripping from crossover pipe

I'm mostly pleased, but do have some issues with the Urethane top coat which is supposed to protect the epoxy from UV issues, etc. My installer used industrial Sherwin William's coating epoxy/urethane products, so I was under the impression they would hold up for garage use. The 1st issue is...

    Condensation dripping from crossover pipe

Just wondering if others are experiencing condensation dripping from the crossover pipe near a tube clamp on the driver's side (see photo). I drive about 60 miles a day, so I would have expected any exhaust condensation to evaporate after the exhaust reaches operating temperature. I get a...

    275/60/20 Michelin defender

The extra meat on the sidewalls looks good! I have the 275/55/20 Michelin Defender LTX M/S, so I'll have to consider the 60 series sidewall next time.

Winter tires and rims came in!

KO2’s and Duratracs still have much harder rubber compounds than dedicated winter tires and have poorer ice traction as a result.

Winter tires and rims came in!

Agree with the squirmy feeling under heavy braking, etc. Studless snows have gotten much better on the noise front since my Nokians are only slightly louder than the Michelin LTX M/S. Installing my snows this afternoon since the weather has turned in western PA. Ran a few miles on snow covered...

    WeatherTech Mudflaps

I also have the WeatherTech mudflaps with the power running boards. In snowy climates, the slush and cinders build up on the leading edge of the running board and makes a nice sandpaper sound against the front flaps when they deploy. A trip to the car wash solves the issue, but still an...

Winter tires and rims came in!

I also have the Nokia’s Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV in the same size and they make a big difference on snowy/icy roads vs my Michelin LTX M/S summer tires. Next set I may go with one size narrower since the front tires float more than I’d prefer vs digging in heavy slush, etc.

    Issues removing license plate bulb

Agreed! These LED bulbs seemed to be the best tradeoff to not be super bright (only 3 small diodes), but still have the white color. Many of the other W5W size LED bulbs were covered in diodes (15-20 per bulb).

    Issues removing license plate bulb

Just installed LED license plate bulbs. They aren't super bright, which was my goal, but have the correct color to match my LED puddle lamps. Here are a few photos and a link to the bulbs that I used. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019SKI5CC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Tow package fuel economy

I guess it's all relative. I didn't buy this vehicle for the mileage, but having an updated diesel offering (not the current 3.0 PowerStroke) would be a nice option. The new 3 liter straight 6 from GM has my attention based on some of the videos I've seen on TFL (34 mpg running empty at 70 mph...

USB ports stopped working in center console

So my USB ports stopped working today in the area near the wireless charging dock. I first noticed when I wasn't able to access the music on a USB drive on the way home. I also was unable to charge my phone in the other port. I ended up finding some info on an F150 forum about disconnecting...

    22" All Season Tires

Did you end up trimming the rear axle shafts so that the F150 wheels fit, or are you running the rear wheels with no center caps?

    Husky Floor Liners vs. WeatherTech

I have noticed that my weathertech mats in the 2nd row interfere with sliding the captains chairs forward. If the lip on the mats isn’t laying perfectly flat, the sliding mechanism on the captains chairs gets hung up on the mats and won’t allow the captains chairs to slide forward.

    Thoughts on OEM spare

If you live in an area where they spread salt and spray brine on the roads in the winter, an aluminum wheel would get very corroded under the vehicle and wouldn’t work well to include it in the normal tire rotation. The steel wheel would also get rusty, but it’s outta sight unless you have a flat.

    30" light bar installed!

Different states must have different rules regarding the use of auxiliary lighting while on the road. The rules in PA state that off road lights need to be physically covered while on the road, but no one enforces it. If a cop catches someone in PA with their lightbar on while on the road...

    Remote control emergency key

I experimented with the key and you have to insert it so that it can be turned clockwise to about 2 o'clock. You then turn it back to 12 o’clock to remove the key. Let the door handle close over the key hole. Then pull it open and it’s unlocked. It’s less than intuitive for sure!

    Best Tire option

If you are picky about the condition of your wheels, they will get pretty beat up with mounting/dismounting twice a year regardless of how careful the tire store is. That's a big advantage of having a 2nd set of wheels dedicated to snow tires. - The clear coat typically gets messed up around...

    Best Tire option

Here area couple photos of my Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV tires on 20" Expedition wheels for reference. I've always been pleased with the Hakkapelitta tires and the additional grip they provide in icy/snowy weather. They also seem to have good tread wear characteristics.

    Vibration while towing

I also had the OEM Toyo's on 20" wheels, and quickly noticed their tendency to flat spot even from sitting overnight. I quickly swapped to Michelin Defender LTX M/S (tire shop bought the used Toyo's for a fair price) and the ride is much improved over the Toyos, and no more flat spotting!
