I wouldn't get too excited. If the guys on the Super Duty forums can't get aftermarket companies to bite on a larger midship tank for the gas engines due to the costs of emissions certifications, there is very little chance they would consider it for the Expedition with its much smaller...
If you want to change spark plugs periodically, make sure you get a long socket extension that locks where it connects to your sparkplug socket. Otherwise a normal extension will separate from your sparkplug socket when you try to remove the socket from a newly installed sparkplug due to the...
Agreed that we're not hearing the whole story. Who buys an $80K + vehicle sight unseen from a dealer over 500 miles away and then blames everyone for poor service? If good service was that important, then buy from a local dealer who can arrange a dealer trade, etc.
Really early 2018's have a plastic/composite oil pan with yellow plastic oil drain plug that most people aren't thrilled with, so you may want to confirm if it's the more desirable current aluminum oil pan, or the really early plastic/composite oil pan.
Some 2018's have had issues with vacuum...
Just to clarify, you purchased the vehicle from Waldorf Ford in Maryland, and then the dealer drove the vehicle 500+ miles in order to deliver it to you in Maine? Most dealers would have some type of satisfaction guarantee on a recent purchase in order to make the issue right. Have you tried...
You need to explain the background of the issue and all of the details you can provide before anyone can attempt to offer perspective or recommendations.
I have been chasing a whistling noise near my driver's door and it turned out to be the beltline molding on the driver's door. I bought the part and replaced it myself even though it would have been covered under warranty. I didn't want to deal with the inconvenience of taking it to the...
Lots of cool things you can do in Forscan if you're interested. See the attached thread for 4th Gen Forscan updates. https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/4th-gen-expy-forscan-modifications.34227/
You would need to research your state's lemon law requirements. https://www.illinoisattorneygeneral.gov/consumers/lemonlaw.html
I doubt that an AM preset not working would qualify since the link above says it must substantially impair the use, market value, or safety of the vehicle and must...
Sounds like an unhappy sensor. Maybe recheck electrical connections on any sensors you swapped to the new tubes. If not, wonder if the new tubes are causing one of the sensors to see an unexpected value.
Sad that our old 2011 Sienna even had this front screen functionality for the RES and Ford couldn't figure it out by 2018 for the release of the 4th Gen Expedition
Yeah, just stirrin the pot! Glad Ford offers a choice, I suspect due to direct competition from short and long wheelbased GM triplets. We'll see how long before Jeep announces a long wheelbase Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer.
My engine doesn't have any bolts in these locations either, so I think you're OK. Did you pull your engine cover off? I had to pull my cover to see the spot you are referencing in your photo.
First I've heard of the VDOP oil pressure sensor being disconnected. Did you disable it in Forscan, or physically disconnect it? Seems like it would throw error codes if disconnected.
We went with the shorty to have more space in the garage and for daily ease of parking, etc. We have three kids and when we travel, we typically have half of the 3rd row folded for cargo and if we need more room, we use the Stowaway 2 hitch mounted cargo box (lockable & waterproof). Might...
I see you have a JLT catch can. You would likely have even more oil in your intercooler if you didn't have a catch can. It's oil vapor mixed in the PCV gases that are being routed back into the intake. Any chance this is residual from before you installed your catch can?
Any idea if the cam shafts were scored on the prior replacements? Metal in the oil certainly would cause lots of trouble/wear issues. Glad they finally agreed to swap in a new engine!
Tough to do the sway bars without the suspension loaded, so ramps are easier for this job. Important to use E-brake and wheel chocks to keep anything from moving.
Just made an appointment with my dealer for cold start rattle at 32,000 miles on my 2018... Not looking forward to this. Can anyone confirm if the cam phaser parts have been redesigned to address a known flaw, or are the same faulty parts being installed as replacements?
I also didn't hear much whistle, but more heard the augmented engine sound. Some people like to hear the turbo whistle more than stock, so any chance the previous owner removed the intake silencing rings? They look like little plastic vortex generators on the intake pipes and help quite the...
