Im having some trouble with my engine and after finally getting it back from the dealers service center with unsatisfactory results and being able to inspect things myself, I noticed that there are bolts missing? Is this supposed to be this way? They are all on the drivers side near the dipstick area. Please see pics in comments for exact placement.

My engine doesn't have any bolts in these locations either, so I think you're OK. Did you pull your engine cover off? I had to pull my cover to see the spot you are referencing in your photo.
