I did the same. Cheap, easy to do and it makes such a big difference. I have replaced the OEM incandescent bulbs in all our new cars for the last 10+ years.
I did get better back up LEDs. Will post them soon.
So you are babying your new puppy. Only 350 miles?? Still a virgin!!
I drive into Elko NV from Spring Creek which is about 20 miles each way. There is Lamoille summit which has to be passed up and over with each round trip. Going up over the summit, my Expy does not downshift going up the...
Great minds think alike! It is fun to drive! Looking forward to our road trip in the SW US next week! Have under 2000 miles on mine, thinking about its first oil change before we go.:chewie:
The TC shouldn't activate the breaking routine unless there is slippage realized by the computer in one of the wheels. Driving on a paved road with no ice or water should be ideal conditions IMHO. So how would the TC activate enough to make a difference in MPG in ideal conditions anyway??
Yes...
In my 2017 Owners Manual, pgs. 178-179, there is a table that describes what actions to take to control Traction Control. On pg. 179 it shows that at above 35 mph, if you press and hold the TC button for longer that 5 seconds, the system is disabled. However, there is reference under the table...
Agreed. I purchased an extended warranty for my 2012 F-150 and never used it. When researching the 2017 Expedition, I noticed Consumer Reports rated the Expedition very highly, so I figured it would be a waste of money. The way I see it, 2017 is at the peak of production quality before the 2018...
Interesting comparisons. The wing definitely shows more laminar flow and elevates the vacuum under the rear of the vehicle. Turbulence is what I would call slip stream vacuum. Unfortunately, a deflector under the rear bumper for me would be torn off on some of the off road work I do. Great for...
Static electricity is caused by an arc or spark in your switch. Maybe some dust or dirt in the contacts. Time for a cleaning? Simplest to try to blow it out using compressed air. If that doesn't work, try to disassemble and clean with electrical contact cleaner. Or a new switch?
Wow Jeff, this may be a bingo! I will contact them today to see if they offer anything like the bottom one for the Expy. The top one is for a split door, but the bottom (or middle) looks exactly like what I need.
Thanks for finding that and bringing if forward.
I checked out your website and nothing for the Expedition. Naturally, I don't want to install something that can cause a problem down the road (no pun intended). Thanks Todd.
Thanks for all that Lakeside. I guess the Expy evolved with the design favoring fuel efficiency and engineers forgot about practically. So it goes. But it opens up a market for entrepreneurs to develop something that will be the envy of Ford engineers.
I found this on eBay for a 2002-2004 Navigator, but have no idea how it would be configured. Most of these are marketed to look cool and enhance certain areas of lacking manhood. If it actually blew roof air downward, I would consider it, but no info on the eBay site.
Thanks Flex, but this airfoil will only bring air flow upward from the wheelbase. I am looking for something that blows downward to clear the vacuum along the rear window.
Thanks Lakeside, I did not even think about the Navigator. So they may be available in a parts catalog somewhere. I will investigate this. Probably easier than getting EAndy and powerboatr to develop one...:angels25: Yes, stay tuned, something is out there that will work.
Jeff, you are absolutely right about the dust and dirt coming up from road way, kicked up by the rear tires. It is moving upward to fill the slipstream vacuum created by forward motion of the vehicle. The idea of an air deflector on top of the lift gate would be to fulfill the vacuum from above...
I, of course would claim a 5% royalty on all future profits for the initial intellectual property... Of course, I can claim whatever I want, right??:bleh::artist1:
I think EAndy and powerboatr should get their collective Bernoulli brains together and design what we need. It could be marketed widely and you both can retire as very wealthy men!!:grd:
