Does your state have a lemon law? Sounds like a perfect candidate. Truly a lemon. Seems like with all the problems off the dealership lot, the dealer was unaware of this? They certainly should have known. Definitely should have done a test drive though. Document everything and keep receipts...
I don't get much sludge in my can. After 10k miles, there was only about 2-3 oz of sludge. But the write-up you provided is what this forum is about. Don't be discouraged! The oil separator has many discussion posts on this forum that could have help in your original decision.
How is this different from the cheaper JTL separator? I installed the JTL for about half the price and it was a simple install even with the engine cover. What is the difference other than the OEM aspect?
Having driven 4x4 vehicles offroad my entire career, ELSD is great for uneven mountain roads and slick surfaces. But for ordinary diving, even on snow or ice, the traction control will do the job. I agree with dlcorbett it would be a waste for you.
I have the Pirelli Scorpion Weather active tires and just love them. I chose those over the defenders because most of my driving now is road trips so I preferred a road tire. If you will be taking your expy off-road often or somewhat, you should consider the defenders. They are both great tires.
The traction control is excellent on these vehicles. You should be fine unless you start thinking you're a super hero. Should be fun! Take it into a vacant parking lot when it snows and do some donuts. Its the best way to get the feel of the vehicle on ice. Of course, turn off traction control...
Thanks Gone, I bought one at FairwayFord website that I keyed out as best as possible with my VIN etc. All the oem parts websites are pretty similar formats (including Tasca) with the same standard exploded diagrams, images and choices, just the price and shipping are different.
Anyway, I...
Thanks guys. From my research, the mirror assembly should be part #nl1z17683ac. I am having trouble finding where to key this out to what I have, camera, blis, power fold, spot light. None of the mainstream oem parts websites are helpful with this. Can anyone confirm that the part number is...
I damaged my driver's side mirror to the point of having to tape it up to use. Yes, ouch. I ordered a replacement unit since it is relatively simple to replace. Just expensive $1000ish. Ordered oem but the info provided was minimal. My questions are;
1. Do the oem replacement side mirror parts...
I find the charger to be a waste of money and space. Apparently, I have large hands that will not easily get into that tiny space to position the phone to charge. Maybe small dainty hands would work fine, but again, seems like the Ford Expeditions engineers are forgetting their customer base and...
The OP got the heavy-duty WeatherTech mats in photo. WeatherTech also has a better, well-fitted one that I use, and it is perfect for wet boots. Have another look on their website.
A proud Marine I see! I have the stealth in white and have the black B pillar covered with PPF and am going to do the mirrors, running boards and D pillars as well. The emphasis on shiny black over the star white is spectacular. The PPF over the black trim alleviates the PITA swirl scratches...
Welcome to the forum. Nice ride! I just put on Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive and it is a dream ride. Yeah, the dealership selling a vehicle like that with mismatched tires is red flag!
You might consider WeatherTech mud/splash guards as well. They are great for keeping mud/slop off running boards and splatter/rock chips on wheel well paint.
The 2025 redesign sounds like the glitchy Sync 4a 15-inch screens on steroids! It may appeal to the younger crowd that was raised sucking on a computer mouse, but for "traditional" expedition buyers, the tech falls flat. Gone are simple big knobs for big hands, the easy push button controls and...
Yeah. No color in mine either. Bummer. If I had known of this earlier, I could have considered a different make (JK). My '17 Limited had the color change and it was kinda cool to have and it entertained many passengers. But with color-changing LEDs so common now, why not? Silly.
