Bilstein Lower Spring Seat 2007 Expedition

I just put bilsteins on mine last week. Mine had some cheap-assed quick struts with non-removable spring seats. I ordered 4 Motorcraft struts from ebay (OEM stuff) and took the seats off to use on the bilsteins. Now I have 4 struts that I don't need and can't return, but at least my ride is on...

    Lug nut question

I put some new lug nuts on mine the other day when I swapped wheels after the ready lift and struts. No problemo. Sounds like whoever gets the wheels off needs to put a super thin layer of antiseize on the hat of the rotor where the wheel comes in contact when it's on. That will keep it from...

Sand and 17 vs 18 inch rims

Oh yeah. You have 20 years and change on me, but I say it at least 3 or 4 times a week..."I ought to not be here today" when I ponder some of the stuff I've done. There was a wreck I was in that should've put me in a wheelchair at best and in the graveyard, worst case. Walked away literally with...

Sand and 17 vs 18 inch rims

An air compressor will probably be be cheaper (ok, definitely, not just probably) and you can air down to about 15-20 psi or so depending on tire. I'd just keep what ya got...honestly, with just an inch difference in wheel dia you're not not going to notice a difference in road ride quality...

    2020 Expedition up in flames

Take it from someone who had a Thunderbird catch fire while I was in it....a fire extinguisher in EVERY car is not just a good idea...it's a damned great one. Even if it isn't enough to keep the car from becoming a total loss, it could save a life. In my case it kept my 'Bird from being...

    Who has a Magnaflow catback?

The 16379 is the one I got. The 1st gens have a lot more going for them, in terms of exhaust stuff, it seems.

    2020 Expedition up in flames

Damn, that's unfortunate. Thankfully nobody was hurt. I've got one little one still in a car seat, the next two youngest are in booster seats. I can get 'em all out in under a minute, though. It's like any other muscle memory function. I also have my kids all sit in the same seat every time...

    Bilsteins and spring seats...

I used an oreilly rental compressor set on mine. No issues. Used an impact to turn em down and back 'em off, etc. Finagling the hooks on the springs to get an "even" squeeze was the hardest bit.

2008 Expedition and Marvel Mystery Oil

Actually, Cosequin He posts a lot, but the sum of his words add up to about 3 medium sentences of useful tech. And that's up for debate, to be honest. I also get a kick out of his thinking he's insulting me by calling me a farmer...I put a belt, a hose, and some oil and fuel in my combine to...

Add LEDs to the rear end of my '17 XLT

I don't think mine is. Of course that's also dependent on the viewing angle, too..

Add LEDs to the rear end of my '17 XLT

Crap, I thought I posted the link to the one I bought...guess I forgot. D'oh! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YKL9WB3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You saved about 12 bucks over me, but I didn't have to hassle with taking anything apart though. Long as we're both happy...

2008 Expedition and Marvel Mystery Oil

If you would take the time to re-read both my post and yours that I quoted, you'll see that I was neither derogatory nor foul mouthed. You, however resort to name calling as though you have nothing else to say. I'd think someone who is very nearly an octogenarian would try to set a better...

Add LEDs to the rear end of my '17 XLT

You can buy an LED 3rd brake light on Amazon. Took me about 5 minutes to reinstall the new one. Had a hiccup with the washer hose and nozzle...the new one's nozzle wouldn't seat correctly. Had to finesse it a wee bit to get it to latch in place. I got mine smoked or tinted or whatnot...looks...

2008 Expedition and Marvel Mystery Oil

I'd HIGHLY recommend using Motorcraft oil, or at least something decent that's full syn. I've beaten the dog snot out of my '06 Explorer, but one thing's consistent; the oil changes and new filter. Always been 5-30 syn and Motorcraft filter. The only noises with near 200K are the typical...

Adding Stealth features? Plastidip / Wrap?

A question on wraps and such...is there a finite amount of colors or is it like paint in that it can be made to exactly match the factory paint, or..? I've an aftermarket grille on my '11 and while it's black, it's not Tuxedo Metallic and it's pretty obvious. I'd rather get it wrapped than the...

    2015 Expedition Suspension Issue?

Op, it is entirely possible the shocks (or struts, as they are also referred as) could be bad..from what you describe, I'd agree they are. Your springs are fine, it's just that if the shocks are bad and I think they are, they will have no resistance to compression and rebound, which is quite...

What did you do to the expy today

Right!? LOL I'm like..I'll be damned. I can't be mad, she's never had a big....vehicle...like this, until she got with me last April. And of course I about hit the damned thing too, a couple of days before. Bad thing was, she was just taking the kids to the end of the driveway to wait for the...

What did you do to the expy today

I put a bug deflector on. Then I pondered the newly cracked tail light and the dent in the hatch about an inch below the glass. My dear sweet girlfriend back into a trash can this morning... No, I didn't yell at her but she was pretty upset and there were tears. It's just a truck..glad she...

It's been said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Seems a bit accurate here... Also, when dogs bark, if you exercise patience and ignore them, they tend to shut up shortly. ;)
