    New engine install 2011 Expedition

Years ago, I was helping a friend pull his 350 out of his truck (damned chevys, anyhow...), and he was insistent to pull the dipstick/tube before hoisting the engine up, up, and away. Oil all over his grandpa's shop floor. Gramps was not happy. When the other engine went in, he had to do it...

    My '11 EL

And today's goodness: Tires are 33x12.5x18, no rubbing. Next time I'll go up to a 35", but that will likely need a 3.5/3 spacer set (currently have a 3/2 readylift kit under there...)

whimsical thoughts, or, Expedition into a "Bronco"..

Yeah, that's one of the Centurion conversions. While you can't see it in the pic, under the Bronco emblem is a smaller badge that says Centurion. Ford didn't build anything like these, other than possibly a prototype and I really doubt they even did that. The last few years of Broncos used...

whimsical thoughts, or, Expedition into a "Bronco"..

That's a good set of questions! Currently my photoshop is of my own Expy, so for the sake of my exercise it's going to have an '11 Expy front. I'm currently having a hard time with the rear, the shell. I suppose if this was a real life, actual build, I'd either have to measure the width of an...

whimsical thoughts, or, Expedition into a "Bronco"..

The sport is a reskinned Escape, but I'm not sure what the powerplant(s) are...I just don't care enough to look it up, LOL. These days, I need bigger, anything smaller than my '06 Explorer ain't gonna cut it, and at that, the Explorer is barely adequate for daily needs...hence my Expy.. A...

whimsical thoughts, or, Expedition into a "Bronco"..

Was thinking how could it would've been had Ford offered a Bronco based on the Expedition EL. 2 door, 3 passenger bench, 2 seat bench in the back and on a shortened wheel base Expedition EL chassis. I'm contemplating whipping such a creature up in photoshop, to get a sort of an idea what one...

    Stripped chrome lug nuts

Let it be carved in stone, eternally.. Stock Ford lug nuts are absolute garbage.

    Stripped chrome lug nuts

Thanks for this, I ordered a set of the gorilla nuts for my new F150 wheels to be held on with. Soon as the tires arrive and are mounted, and I get 'em on, I'll post pics. I went with the black ones...the wheels are back with machined areas, they're the 18" Sport wheels, IIRC they come on the...

    33x12.50x18?

Between the board being laggy, slow, and returning me to the main forum instead of actually taking me to threads when I open them into a new tab, I'm having a hard time finding any concrete info if a 33x12/50 will fit (some minor rubbing is acceptable and expected) on stock offset (44mm) Ford...

Any Hubcentric Wheel Spacers .25-.33 of an Inch?

Actually on the 3rd and 4th gens, they are centered via the hub. There's a lot of arguments, but if you look at stock wheels (Ford, the last decade at least) they all center on the hub, it's like this from mustangs up to trucks. Can't really say about the FWD stuff, I've been out of the game for...

    Bilsteins and spring seats...

I did on my rears. The springs that were one were from the previous quickstrut set and were sagging or else weren't as "tall" in regards to loaded ride height. Gave a little backwards rake and looked like dogshit. I put Moog units in from rockauto (decent price, actually) and brought the rear up...

I have a set on hand now, man they are gorgeous and will absolutely pop on my Expy. About to hit "submit" for some rubber....hope the size I picked will fit in the wells! LOL...

The summit spring seats don't fit, eh? Did you try these on a 5100 or a 4600 (or both)?

Lower spring seats -- I spent money so you don't have to

Did anyone search for this, and come across my thread titled "bilsteins and spring seats"? ;) Another guy posted that he did indeed get springs seats from bilstein that WILL work on stock diameter shocks, and of course the 4600 Bilstein. Not sure if the 4600 and the 5100 have the same dia...

    My '11 EL

Forgot about my own thread..smh. Some stuff has changed. I broke a wheel spacer, and ruined a wheel. Thankfully it was head across the farm to get to the tractor to bring wood in. Had it been on the highway...would've been a real bad deal. Awhile back, I changed the rear springs to Moog...

    Misfire and spark plug recommendations.

Hopefully they only got you for the coil and plugs? Misfire are almost always bad plugs, then coils. The other stuff is a lot less likely to cause misfires, if at all.

Dead at the Dealership Parking Lot

Fix it yourself. Had to be a hell of a thing, bending a tensioner. Sure, they will lose tension over time, but bending? I'd have to see that for myself..

Got some sexy stuff in the mail!

Arguing about 0-60 times in a 3 ton SUV? LOL! Y'all need to take the masks off and go out to the park and get some sunlight. (yeah, I'm aware that this is an old thread..just wanted to be a "cool kid" too...)

Limited Slip Differential *AND* Traction Control?

Trac control is off by default in low range, not in 4x4 High. As stated you can hold the button in to override it...or can you? It doesn't work in mine. I can hold it in until the cows come and that damned light won't flash. Several people say that on their Expys they can hold the trac button in...

Gave the Expedition a new look

I don't mind at all chrome on a '56 Ford..or a '69 Mercury ;) (absolutely gorgeous car, BTW). I just don't like it on my '11 Expedition. makes it look like a pimp mobile. Maybe what I'm lacking is the hoes and champagne in the back seats...hmm. Now THERE'S an idea. Ladies...you carriage awaits...

    Misfire and spark plug recommendations.

Plugs, and if still an issue, swap coils till you find the problematic one(s). Mine did this too, I threw on new plugs and no more issues. I used the Sp509, though mine is an '11....

New to me 2011 Expo King Ranch 130k spark plugs

I'd be surprised if there was on an '11. That problem was overcame after around '08 MY trucks...head redesign and a move to one piece plugs. ;) If you've seen a few, you can tell at a glance that those he took out are the later design. Hope this helps :)
